i wish so that this would be continued

Okay, I absolutely love the end of this chapter. Not just because it's so fitting (both to the setting and unfortunate human nature) but because the measured, brutal response from Hikaru is exactly that. Someone stomped on a berserk button of his and his response isn't to flip out, yell or intimidate, much less violence. Oh no, his response is to explain how and why he is going to utterly destroy Masamichi's whole business. The parting shot about his wife is just gravy.

I realize you likely will never read this, and there likely will be no more of this story ever made (or at least where I can read it.) but I felt the need to put it out in public that you've built up a really fun pair of characters here. Hikaru's total cynicism, sardonic melancholy and gritted teeth 'getting on with it' is truly entertaining to watch. Asuka contrasts him well with her more expressed emotional outpourings, better social awareness and occasional dope slap. (or dope flame as the case may be.) Heck, I'm impressed with how natural Naruto's interactions with them feel. If someone had used this as the basis for a filler arc at this point in the story (to establish Anko, the Forest of Death and other setup for the exams) this would fit in nicely. It'd have long term impacts of course, but you have done what many authors strive to do, show someone who's slightly off genre in a setting seamlessly and in an entertaining way.

Oh my god this is such a gem i cant believe i never found this before! I so completely love this! I especially adore the irony of anko being sensei to mini-orochimaru(ish). I cant wait till chuunin exams or kabuto sees him. Maybe he actually is related, that'd be so cool. Also i really wonder what kekkei genkai he has, cuz the elongated fangs are so not normal.

I just got done reading this and before this one i read Team 8 and i just have to say how amazed i am at your writing skill, it's truly wonderful and i hope that one day you will see this review and many more that say this, and have inspiration to continue the stories here. The world building, characters, personality, and way you portray people in your stories captivates me and leaves me hanging on the edge of my seat. I really hope that one day i will look into my favorites list and see your stories updated!

While Team 8 is very good I think that this is probably a better work. Some may object to your using original characters in a fanfic you have given them enough back story that they are believable. Asuka's is still light but I'm sure it will be explored.

A breath of fresh air in the Narutoverse that I hope you will find time to continue.
