I do like the "Giant Rei" ending, but this one finishes just too cutely. Congratulations!

THANK YOU! Evangelion was the DEFINITION of the word "MIND-RAPE" at times, so much so that I just quit watching it. I then resorted to just reading plot synopses, but it STILL sucked! I was honestly like, "Come the fuck on! Does this show EVER get happy?!" You should rename this story, "How Evangelion SHOULD have ended," because this is DEFINITELY the ending that I wanted. This acted as great closure to my journey with what will more than likely be the single anime that I hated the most.

Don't be afraid to have a good ending. The one thing I personally dislike in anime is these horrible, painful tragic ending that hurt your heart. If I wanted sadness and suffering I can watch the 6 o'clock news. I don't need anime for that. I think you did a fine job.

I love the EoE ending too, but it went a bit over the top when they started showing footage of people watching the movie.

There was no apparent pairing in this fic (no) but it wasn't really needed storywise anyway. I think you hinted a bit of a SxA, but that's how it would have most likely gone if the series ended differently.

I like SxR more though.

Yup, I would have liked to see an ending along those lines: one preserving the same thematic elements as the original, but without making Shinji come across as so passive and useless that he lost the audience's sympathy. Good job!

Not bad at all, though it's also in a way the expected ending, isn't it? Part of what I found so compelling about NGE was that it was different. At first it looks like a teen coming-of-age story in which our not-especially-heroic protagonist will eventually learn to believe in himself and become a man. Hideki Anno played with our expectations and even mocked us, even in EoE. Which is, I guess, why the ending was so unsatisfying to so many people.

What you've done here is write the sort-of-kinda-sorta expected ending for NGE. It's mechanically very good, though it also hits all the normal, expected notes in a way that's feels wrong for the cast of lost souls and madmen that Anno created and used to populate NERV.

Oh, well. Hmm.

That was a good retelling of the story. Heaven knows, it was less confusing than the End of Evangelion lol Nice work.

I think this was a good story, pretty good writing too.

One small criticism, I think you could have added more description in the battle with the MP EVA's especialy in the part after Asuka broke Shinji loose.

You know, this story could easily could be continued as the kids grow, relationships form and more zanyness can abound.
