that poem evoked that kind of nostalgia and wistful melancholy so incredibly much! when calvin took hobbes out of the closet..and when he put him away again, having forgotten how imagination made life a "magical world" as watterson put it so simply, it nearly broke my heart. I guess that story is something everybody can relate to...just a question, did you do the poem or the story first? or one line after the other?

This was so lovely and sad. It just seemed to summarise Calvin growing up so perfectly. MrDragon
