I'm quite honestly crying a little bit. This was so sad! But I liked that you explored the end of their relationship in a new way. Usually it's Remus just reads the prophet; Sirius' perspective isn't always covered. Good job!

At first I thought maybe you just edited this story when I saw it bumped to the top of my favs list but then I realized there was a new chapter and GOT SOOOOO EXCITED !

I'm not entirely sure how you managed to do it, but you did break my heart a little bit more. I love your writing style, and this fic makes me sad inside, but it's pretty and well written, so I'll forgive it. Also...will "The Bet" ever be updated. Now that I know your alive, I must ask. :)

I cannot put into words how much I love this little one-shot.

I literally think of it as canon. Literally. Every other story I read about Remus/Sirius falling in love during school, I mentally make a progression from the ending chapters of those stories to this one-shot and then straight into JKR's books. The characterizations are perfect, the situation is so realistic when put into context of the war going on, and the transition you've shown is really in synch with canon events and Marauder-era S/R fanfiction.

I love it sooooo much it should be illegal. Thank you thank you THANK YOU for writing this, I absolutely adore you :)

A nice glimpse into Remus and Sirius's life during the first war against Voldemort. I love that you have Remus offering to be SK instead, and Sirius's reaction is perfect.

I love your take on why Sirius decided to make Peter the Secret Keeper. It's very in character and I love how you write them, though I feel so sorry for Remus that things aren't going so well between them anymore, especially knowing that he won't see Sirius again for the next 12 years, believing him to have betrayed the Potters. I'm also slightly curious as to whether Sirius really started to care less for him the way Remus perceived.

Heart wrenching, really. I feel for both of them.

Wow. That was the saddest one-shot I read in a while. You really described the situation between them well, and you could feel the tension between them while reading the story.

I also like their way of talking. Siriusway of giving blunt and direct answers, his anger towards Remus and then the sudden change when he feels guilty for having shouted at him (at least thats the impression I got while reading it) are depicted very well, as well as Remus hesitant questions and his fears for his lover.

That was too sad, but beautifully written. Interesting to explore what it would be like for Sirius having decided that he would be Secret Keeper. The way you described the relationship and the changes in it to show what Remus was feeling was really good.
