Your ability to create imagery in someone's mind is absolutely flawless.
I often find myself struggling to imagine certain events in stories when I read them, but this just flowed so well, I didn't even need to try.
The words you choose to fit together perfectly and the way you describe things is amazing.
I love how you use their real names too, it gives almost this sense that they don't need to hide anymore, no more aliases. Just the two of them.
You honestly had me silently crying as I read this, not so much out of hurt, but the idea of Near's death kind of makes me happy. It makes you realise how alone he is/was, and then everything is just put right again.

Uh, I've been waiting for a fic that actually talks about the matter of death in Near's life. I found this.

And how I feel everything you wrote here. As if we have the same perception of his way of living his life. After L, Mello and Matt died, he's the one left.. alone. And he lived his life lonely like that.

I imagined a lot about what he would think if he was to face his own brink of life, and pretty much the insides of my mind was written here, except.. perhaps, the ending scene. What I have in thought is just he lived a sad life. I like how he uses his mind, and I'm sure people in this fandom absolutely find this character cool, awesome, etc etc just like L in some ways, but I don't want to live a life like him. Too scary and sad.

Sigh, a nice fic you have here. Thank God Near's fictional.
