Once again, great job! I am still enjoying this series of stories...though I wish the following ones didn't reveal so much in the summary.

3..2..1.. JUMP!
cklammer chapter 9 . 6/19/2009
Options for the Pegasus diminish - or so it would seem. But is it reallsy so ? Space is so vast that there is not enough mass in the Universe to seed all interstellar space with mines. In the same way the oceans of earth can not be seeded with mines - but one can try to do something about certain choke points. Space has three dimensions, though, rendering mines less effective.

So why do the mines in the story appear to choke the Pegasus' freedom of movement ? The only answer IMHO is because the way FTL navigation is being performed: certain jumps are always performed in a certain way - it must be as if every navigator/ navigation computer/software has its own built-in Space Traffic Controller, I assume.

Only this would make laying mine fields an effective area denial approach.
