So sad.

I don't understand why she has to wipe Harry's mind. He's a wizard, after all, and it might comfort him to know that his professor had cared enough to keep watch on him over the years. It might have led to more trust on his part.

By wiping his memory Harry isn't left with the knowledge of even that bit of love.

What a wonderful story! I really like the idea of McGonagall keeping an eye out for Harry! Beautifully written too!

Oh nononononononono, this is so awfully sad. It's so wonderful, but really sad. If crying would be my thing to do, it'd totally cry. Considering that's out of option this oneshot really moved me (and saddened me... The ending is exorbitant sad, the last sentence killed me...)

Very eloquent (and quite a joy to read). A few lines really caught at me:

"...so closely resembled Vernon Dursley in her commodious proportions and florid coloring that Minerva decided she must be Miss Marjorie Dursley..."

and

"Harry knew it was an insult too, for you know about such things when you're six, even if you don't know how to talk about them yet."

Minerva has always seemed incredibly maternal to me, and I really enjoyed reading this! Reading this, the only thing I found off-putting was Minerva's ability to take time for Harry. I feel like Minerva cares too much about Harry too quickly. I could understand her wanting to watch out for the savior of the wizarding world, but it feels like she cares specifically for Harry, even when she barely knows him as a baby. Having said that, I loved reading this, not only for your exceptional grammar, but for your wonderful story-telling powers! Please keep it up!
