I love the way you characterize Cid, and elaborate on his past relationship with Venat and Balthier, especially since the game was never particularly clear on either. It's absolutely excellent, and getting fave'd.

I can't think of any better history for those two. It's very well-planned out, and flows smoothly. The way Cid copes with the changes in his life and how Balthier, or Ffamran eventually leaves is done very well. Plus, the descriptions of Cid's workplace and stuff feels very real and true. Thanks for the great read!

Definitely the most human portrayal of Cid I've seen... I never liked the geezer much (though he was amusing!), but this made me see him in a whole new light.

simply perfect! this honestly has to be my favorite ffxii story on here. the character development is amazing and fits wonderfully with the game. and the dialogue is so simplistic, with key phrases that i could imagine being used in the game compared to somme other stories on here that use way too much old english. bravo!

This is a strange and melancholy tale. You have elegantly presented the arc of development with a smooth hand. The pervasive sense of inevitability adds greatly to the mood. Beautiful and unsettling.

You have a fine handle on Cid's character, and the elements that you used to distinguish Ffamran-the harpsichord in particular, and I loved your use of "sabotaging" there-are very striking. The story and the connectors thereof are also quite strong.

However, I think you might have paid more attention to style. Venat is meant to speak in iambic pentameter, according to the game, for one, and this would have solidified her/his presence. You also tend to tell and not show, though that may just be the nature of Cid's character.

I enjoyed this, and the story is a strong presence. Just those stylistic quibbles. ::smiles:: Not Bad At All.
