Reviews for Season Four: Through the Cracks
Guest chapter 9 . 9/9/2016
Nicely done. Characters spot on. Tight plots, well written if a bit brief. Ron's "training" was well done, but I'm sure it could have proven to be fertile ground for more.
Guest chapter 2 . 6/5/2015
The streaks left behind by reentering MIRVs are called "fingers of god" for a reason: the detonation of a hundred-kiloton nuclear warhead is not an event that can be survived by dodging a warhead travelling at many times the speed of sound. And nukes are usually set to detonate above their targets.
Love your story anyway, just being nitpicky.

That has got to be the first time from what I've read so far that anyone has ever included a previous event as like in the television show with a clip! I luv it! Keep me satisfied!
XyKPfan chapter 6 . 12/25/2007

XyKPfan chapter 2 . 12/22/2007
I really enjoyed this chapter and how it was portrayed Ultimate Naco Topping. I luved it and everything about it. And I don't saw that often. I am very strict about how authors write KPfics. It lets me know how they feel about the show and it they are a true KPfan. Like those who write Kigo's(Which I Can't Stand!) Let's me know that they feel its write for Kim and Shego to be together. I will never read a Kigo for as long as I live! This fic lets me know about your feelings and I must say that I am very satisfied and am looking forward to reading more of your fics(I don't do this often to most KPfanfic authors). And I am so adding to you to my Author Alert List(I SO DON'T DO THIS UNLESS I FEEL YOU DESERVE IT!) Keep it up and you might make my Favorite Author List( Commander Argus is #1 and the only one on that list. I'd advise you to check out his fics. and see how they are potrayed). Keep up the great work:)

P.S. You misspelled Buffoon.
Danny-171984 chapter 9 . 10/26/2007
Dr. Drakken suing? wow...there is something you don't see...or read everyday. That was funny. And Ron being instructed by Monique was a good touch. I was hoping to read how Ron and Kim's 'first' date went. You know what, I don't think that was their first date. I remember before that they went to the lake, to have a picnic, 'alone' without supervision. It might have been interrupted by a mission, but it was an official date nonetheless. Anyways, and when did Ron join the Football team? I don't remember reading that Ron actually decided to be on the team. Or reading Kim's reaction to this issue. Oh well...your new idea at "Kim Possible: the Freshman Fifteen" is great. 'Dr.' Dememtor as their teacher was a good twist. I can actually picture it...

Dr. Dememtor's later plot of taking over the world, when suddenly Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable shows up to stop his evil plan. "Kim Possible and...what's his name...I don't have the roll sheet...Never mind that, I hope you have finish doing you Physics homework or you will be not be passing my class Kim Possible!" Kim, smilling "Oh, I already finished it but you-" "Oh man...will there be extra credit during the semester?" Ron asked. "NO! You should have thought of that before coming here to ruin my plan!" Dememtor yelled.

LMAO! College years...I can't wait for the upcoming chapters. Keep on writing.

LMAO! Only Ron can pull that off! I'm glad that someone will get his name right...even if it did spoil the moment between Kim and him. I think this was your best chapter so far. It had everything. I'm very pleased with this chapter. Keep up the good work.

Danny-171984 chapter 5 . 10/24/2007
LMAO! Kim sleeping with her eyes open...That hilarious. It's creepy to see people doing that. A roommate of mine, Indian by the way, sleep with his eyes open. It was creepy at the beginning, but we got used to it. Anyways, Ron rocks! The way he handle the Dr.D. and Shego...awesome. I'm starting to like your stories. Keep on writing.

Zaratan chapter 9 . 10/22/2007
Okay, this felt just as an episode would. I mean, you could picture it all so clearly in everything that was said and done. Amazing work my friend, simply amazing.

Eagerly awaiting more!
Akinyi chapter 9 . 10/19/2007
Though the update for this chapter took a bit longer than planned, it was well worth the wait!

This is one of those stories I would give almost anything to see animated into the show. It just seems so much like a real episode!

Monique's boyfirend trainning 101 was priceless!

Outstanding chapter. Please update as soon as you get the chance!
Molloy chapter 9 . 10/17/2007
When he gave his first readings of “Howl,” Allen Ginsberg would begin by reading a dedication to the works of his friends Jack Kerouac, William Burroughs, and Neal Cassidy. At the time, few of their books had found publishers, and most of them were deemed un-publishable. He would close the dedication by explaining that “all these books are published in heaven.”

I began this review with that anecdote because, in the same sense, I’d like to believe that this chapter, as well as “Amateur Hour,” the preternaturally good “School’s Out?,” and this author’s standalone story “Confessions of a Little Black Dress” are being produced and animated in heaven.

To me, this chapter gives a glimpse of what every KP episode would be like if the creators/writers/animators were not hampered by corporate noodling or pinned in by the 22 minute format.

What this author does that is both commendable and confounding is that he has, obviously, put forth so much thought, effort and talent into this chapter … and the end result is effusively, effortlessly light-hearted and charming.

All the characterizations, the tone, the pacing … it ALL is in sync with the heartbeat of the show. That is a given from the first section—which is why the story’s nuances

(Drakken’s men on strike, Jack Hench serving K & R a subpoena, Monique almost succumbing to the newly romantic Ron’s spell, Shego showing sympathy with Hank Perkins, etc., etc.) feel so natural. These new twists work so well because the story is tuned into the show’s frequency.

Enumerating all the great moments in this chapter (which should probably be rechristened “episode”) would be pointless, but I do want to touch on three.

1. Section One. Not only did this deliver the goods from both an action (a blur of disparate events flowing together with ease) and a comedic standpoint, it also seamlessly planted the seeds for the final denouement. I, for one, did not recognize the gaps from that first scene (the drop in the number of synthodrones, for instance) UNTIL the characters were giving their testimony towards the end. Very well done.

2. Drakken’s testimony. It is a tv plotline chestnut to have different characters give their myopic versions of the same event. This episode, however, bucks that trend in a sly way by only making Drakken’s version the myopic one. Kim, Shego and Ron’s version all remain true to what happened. A very effective, clever, and funny break from convention.

3. Kim’s first “date” with Ron. Not only is the punch line to the scene (“She kept them shut.”) fitfully hilarious, but the entire sequence is memorable because it takes us to a place that many writers (myself included) have been unable to take the reader-at least to the utterly believable degree UNT has done here—inside Kim Possible’s head. Perhaps, it is because most writers are male and she is a teenage girl, but I rarely read a story where the writer takes things from Kim’s p-o-v and it works so incredibly well. Nothing is over or underplayed. It simply just feels dead on accurate.

At the risk of stating the obvious, this is an excellent chapter to an excellent story and any KP fan would be doing him or herself a great disservice to miss it.
