Hey, I know this review is several years too late, but this story (as well as your sequel) was phenomenal! Well written, engaging, and a real joy to read. I'm a fan of Balthier and think you did a fantastic job bringing out his character, as well as the others too, so thank you again for all the hard work and the amazing journey you took us on!

I honestly love the way you wrote and portray the characters so intelligently!And the use of words! Oh, Vivid images were playing inside my head as I read through all the chapters in 2 nights. I like how you to stay true to the plot but still manage to squeeze in so many events in between. This makes me adore both Balthier and Ashe even more! Can't wait until the sequel is out, until then! Keep writing!

This is an absolutely beautiful story! I don't know why I didn't read it earlier. I love the way you write the characters. They seem so much like themselves, and I love their clever dialogue. This story had a wonderful mix of adventure, danger, romance and drama. Wonderful! And of course, I love the epic romance between Ashe and Balthier. Beautifully done!

Its nearly 4 p.m. in Germany now and the only thing I have done this night was reading your absolut wonderful and fascinating story.

My English is not very good. Normally I would sing many puff pieces to your story. The way you describe and let act the people of Final Fantasy XII, your image of Balthiers past, the whole action of the game...

But even if I would speak English perfectly I would be spechless because of this 31 Chapters.

I have already read many fanfictions about Final Fantasy XII. I'm not ready with the game yet, but all the mysteries about the charakteres - and okay I confess especially Balthier - fascinated me so much, that I need to read something about them beyond the game.

And then I've found your fanfiction this evening and it was all that I wanted to read.

A very profound story about my favourite character. Some romance with the good Ashe, who I love just as much as Balthier and...yes what too?

It's just the way you describe the whole game and make use of the original dialogues, but also put your ideas - especially about the past of Balthier - in it. It's amazing...and I love it :).

Only during the first chapters I had the feeling, that you go very fast ahead with the story. It "sounded" more like a diary - just short and snatchy and not like the following chapters, which were more in details.

But I need to say it again: I love you and I just want to kidnap you, lock you up in my room and let you write Final Fantasy Storys the whole day ;).

Sorry again for my miserable English - I just could not sleep until I've told you how much I love your story ;).

First off, let me say that I have just signed up to be a member of this site, and your story is the first one I have the pleasure of reviewing. That being said, absolutely incredible. your story flowed perfectly, with the flash backs in the first half adding such an amazing amount of depth to not only balthier but others as well. I do wish you had had Drace in them for more than just one scene, but oh well. The way Balthier proposed at the end was very in character.

This is actually one of the most well written FFXII fics I've read so far. You did well keeping the characters nice and neat, and Balthier is just wonderful here. I think you did an excellent job. Well done!

Hey, love this fic, only on chapter 23 tho, so still a bit to go. This is what i would of loved too see added to the original game . It was certainly lacking in story development, but i loved it all the same. We should get a petition drawn up to recreate the game with your version, it would be a welcome idea me thinks!:P I'll let you know in a few days what i thought of all the story, but so far not one complaint, a very enjoyable read!

This is pretty impressive as is your knowledge of traveling on foot, anychance you're a backpacker? Either way this is a wonderful first chapter and I will be sure to read the resst of the story

OMG! I would loved to be there and watch Al-Cid's face hit the deck at the sight of them both kissing at the center stage. Such a beautiful ending to this classic saga. Did I just hear the word "sequel?"
