I love this story. I think jess and rory's complicated issues that come with wanting to be together were really well written. I hope you decide to write a sequel.

First of all, you are an amazing writer. You can really write characters like people, you know? And the way you describr things, I'm a huge fan of that. Second of all, the sex, I mean, it's really sexy. It's really emotional and not just movements, haha. Love it alot.
But just have to say that with this story I never got the Jess and Rory feel to it. Maybe I just didn't get it but I just felt like the characters lacked personality sort of. And I feel like we never really got to know why Jess was screwed up. So that's why, when it ended I just couldn't really know how I felt about it. I feel like there was just some characters talking abot psychology to explain it but we never really got to hear it from Jess. And I know that we know why Jess is messed up in the show but his upbringing clearly wasn't the same here.
I also didn't feel like I got why Jess was better than Simon. There was something that Simon didn't have that Jess apparently did. But all Jess and Rory did was argue, and I don't know, I didn't like that the only reason Rory seemed to love Jess was because he made her angry. And I know it was probably more than that but I wanted to see more of it. See them talk about books or, anything really, that gave them an emotional connection as well.
I just feel like Simon and Jess shared the most emotional bond in this story which didn't really feel all that romantic. I kept waiting for Jess to make some grand gesture or whatever But instead Rory went to him. And maybe that's sexist for me to feel but in this story I felt like Jess had to be the one. Because I never actually got why he loved Rory so much. I never actually got why Rory couldn't be herself with Simon, which made her connection with Jess seem less meaningful. I never actually got why two adults believed that they were supposed to be together just because they made eachother angry.
And I'm really sorry if this was just super negative, it's just that your writing really gets to me sometimes (for example the Ebb and Flow story was beyond perfection, omg) and I guess I really want to understand your thoughts behind this story and I don't.

I have no idea if you even see these reviews anymore, I know this story's been up and dormant for a while but I have to say that I LOVE your re-imagining of these two. Jess in particular -yes, this is completely new and original and would be a disappointment to someone expecting the character from the show, but you've preserved Jess' unique complexity and depth that always made him my favourite. He is, in my opinion, one of the most fully developed GG character in terms of depth and complexity and layers. You've kept all that depth and reinvented him beautifully. I've always thought that (as much as I love her) Rory can be a rather bland and one-dimensional character sometimes; being with Jess and the nature of her relationship with him always gave her a refreshing depth, and you've kept that here, too. I love them, because Jess challenged her and infuriated her, but he never tried to change her. They brought out the best in each other and had the most realistic relationship dynamic that the show ever portrayed and it's fantastic to see that re-imagined so beautifully yet totally maintained. Well done!

You've taken the familiar characters and their undeniable chemistry, and created a fantastic AU setting and plot. Thank you for sharing this story.

I loved this. It never once got boring or slow or frustrating to read, it was emotional but not overly dramatic, and it was 100% believable. I loved everything about it. Their relationship was steamy, and just lovely, and Simon was great.
Love that he got a cat. Love that it was a stray. And love that he named it killer even more.
