All the stuff Severus endured for Lily is sad. He was far from a coward. I doubt that many of us would do what he did for years and suffer as he did. I never saw anything in the books that he ever got the recognition he deserved nor any thanks other than Harry saying he was the bravest man he had ever known. He should have gotten more than that IMO.

Severus isn't a coward. He is the most honorable, most intelligent, the one with the most integrity and the most courageous man in the HP books.

Hold on, Harry. Dumbledore liked everyone depending on him. It never occurred to him he could be wrong or that he would die. Even when he found out he was going to he didn't start correcting his mistakes. He just kept making them. He wasn't great. Just a stupid meddling, manipulative old man who could have stopped all this years ago before it even got started. Or called in the people who actually know what they are doing and get them to handle. But that would have meant sharing information.

This story is really well written!

I loved how Snape's death in this story shows his true bravery, rather than his death accomplishing nothing like it does in the book.
