Your writing is magic, and I adore your depiction of these two in married life. "It secretly amuses her to think that people would be shocked to know this side of James, the part of him that is demonstrative and loving, almost voracious in his needs for his wife. He hides it so well under the brocade and the stern brow, and that looking at him she would never know his thoughts until there is a flash of green eyes, and she is left breathless and longing." It is so James, and it is so how Elizabeth should've been, if she story hadn't demanded she run off with the pirates. I don't even know if you are still around to read reviews, but please know that this is my absolute favorite piece of Pirates fic. So erotic, so sensual, and so right. |

Beautifully done - loved the subtle transition from obligation to want, from fondness to love. :) I can perfectly see the Norrington you pictured in this oneshot. The man has more layers than Elizabeth ever gave him credit for, and I believe she realized this when he kisses her before he died in "At World's End." (btw, I squealed in the movie theatre - at the time - when they kissed, but then promptly cried) I love this fic - it is bittersweet because this probably could have happened if just given a chance.
