The sarcasm is just DRIPPING in this. Aww, he must really have hated himself, poor thing. I'm so sure Sirius had a love/have-to-hate thing going on regarding Regulus. And I'm sure Regulus admired him so much, but felt so betrayed when Sirius left that he tried to be the opposite of what Sirius was.

Nice. I always kind of had a gut feeling that Sirius must've felt something for Regulus (whether it be hate tinged with a little protectiveness or not).

That's so true! I can totally imagine drunk Sirius thinking this things. And if he's rambling so much about it is obvious he cared for his brother.

And so does poor, dejected Sirius spiral. I don't believe for a moment that he really hated Regulus; fact of the matter is, I think most of that venom and loathing was directed at himself, for never being able to help his brother or be there when it counted most. I think the drunkard blames himself for his baby brother's agonizing death.
