Wonderful! Severus is finally free - at least as free as a ghost can be. It is a very unique story and probably one of the best ones written for a follow-up of the books and the epilogue.
I see you have started a sequel, but I also see that you haven't worked on it for a very long time and decided to not even read it because "Lost Boys" has such a great ending and I don't want to get stuck in an unfinished story.

I loved this - and I like the stealth pun of Davey inventing the Davey lamp. I read this on your Hobgoblin blog first (and enjoyed your list of 'Things I Am Not Allowed to Do at Hogwarts', too). Beautiful story - I'm glad that being free of his memories enables Severus to relax enough to become friends with Davey, but also glad that he's able to cope with taking them back in the end - and that he's managing to get on reasonably well with the others, not just Davey. And why WOULDN'T a ghost have desires? If it's not longing to see his own parents alive again, as Harry and presumably Dumbledore did, he's just longing to have had a loving family - or to see any of the people he had cared about again. After all, when people become ghosts, it's likely to be because something had gone badly wrong in their lives, in which case they're surely MORE likely to be drawn back to the Mirror of Erised than living people. But things are starting to work out for Severus at last - and if old age pensioners get a bus pass, it seems only fair that ghosts should, too.

Really great story. Definitely going on my favorites list.

Why doesnt this say its about an original character

This story was quite sweet and amazing, well written and canon-compliant. I'm a bit curious how Al feels about his cousin Davey having such a close friendship with the ghost of his own namesake, though. Is he jealous of his muggleborn cousin?

What an excellent fic! I adored this. Seeing Snape obtain some peace at last, reconciling with Harry, all of this is brilliant.

Love this story! Snape has a friend and is finally free. The story makes sense - I can see his memories being fragmented.
