You have nothing to appologise for. You are not expected to devote all your time to writing. You do need to have a life and enjoy both your family and friends and we cannot expect you to pander to the demands of readers. Enjoy writing and keep having fun. Welcome back! I can understand wanting to rewrite it. Get back into the swing of it. I'm happy you haven't given up on it, gives me hope it will eventually finish. Hopefully this surgery helped and wish you a speedy recovery!

He went from freezing rain in London in July (yes it rains a lot, but freezing?) to cold rain way up in northern Scotland (although THAT'S not as odd as July in Scotland averages only 59-63 F). You ought to know, though, that at this time of year there is actually no complete darkness in the far north of Scotland at night. Poor Harry, he really needs a good cry. Hopefully Dumbledore will let him sleep and be healed before trying to chat.

Do you not realize that a review at this point would be totally pointless and irresponsible? You string words together competently, but you know that. "That a boy/girl doesn't contribute to your knowledge or skill in the slightest. We're only 2 chapters in and you appear to be holding updates hostage? That's not a good thought process.

My heart admittedly sank when I clicked the chapter notification and saw such a low amount of words-but then I actually read your update and almost screeched at work. A rewrite! What a precious gift, especially for such a good 'Harry & Dumbledore' story that I often come back to re-read. I'm so glad to know you are doing well, that you have survived 11 (!) brain surgeries, and that you are still just as passionate about your fanfic and this fandom.

I've already hopped over to start reading Redux, so my review should hopefully be posted there soon too

I just finished reading through all of the 17 chapters and I got to say the story is very good!
Though I loathe to admit it, I agree with renextronex, the first chapter was a bit tedious, with the little amount of dialogue. However, in the chapters following the first one you made more than up for it and I am glad I didn't let it scare me away.

I am not a native speaker of English, but I really like your choice of words. The words were all well placed and true to the character. I also like the amount of detail you use. You make sure that nothing is left uncovered for the reader to think about.
And now about the story itself... It's truly amazing. It starts a bit slow, with a bit of background, but soon we got more action and got to see how Harry develops himself, while under the care of his new guardian.
All with all an amazing story and certainly in my top 5 favourite fanfiction stories (and though I am a bit embarrassed to admit it, I have read a lot of them).
I am however sad to see that the last update was from 2013 and I am pretty sure that no new chapters will follow. I do hope though that my review will find you if only to lighten up your day.

this is a little dissapointing, one of the very few Dumbledore-Harry mentorship fanfics and it's an emo fic... :(

man you have there a massive wall of text, too many descriptions and too much background info, too little action/dialoge, it's kinda of a chore to read
