This is so heartwrending in some ways..the Abbe was the character I felt sorriest for in this movie to an extent. You portrayed him brilliantly, especially the little glimpse into his psyche. Well done! To hear him long for Madeleine's comfort is pretty heartwrenching. Brilliant writing!

I WOULD JUST LIKE TO COMMENT ON THE SCENE IN QUESTION FROM 'QUILLS'; INSTEAD OF THAT BEAUTIFUL WRITING, WELL DONE BY THE WAY.

I THINK MAYBE THE YOUNG MAN OF THE CLOTH PUNISHED HIMSELF THE ONLY WAY HE KNEW HOW, TO REPAY THE ANGUISH HE FELT, AT THE END OF THE STORY. TO BE LOCKED UP AND TREATED THE SAME AS THE MARQUES, OHH THATS JUST TOO PERFECT A PUNISHMENT FORSELF INDULGENT FAILURE.

Seriously, that is bloody brilliant...great stuff ;) and that is a fantastic angle, I would never have thought of that, but looking back on the film, it seems to ring true, and the whole nuance that maybe the abbe himself had masochistic tendencies just adds another hue to an incredible film.
