Amazing story. No out-of-character glitches-it all rings true. Riveting!

Seven thousand glorious words devoted purely to hurt/confused/frozen Sam and worried/awesome/willing to cuddle Dean. This was fantastic! I've never read anything that had a first person POV from Jim before. I thought you did really well with that. I wish we had seen more of him on the show.

I'm glad you gave us more insight into Jim. Being a Christian, i felt alot of empathy for Jim. And he was a hunter too, that made him even more interesting. Not too many of those.
This was a good tag. Explored the complications of Dean's "death" for them later. And even then, there's season 7...

Hypothermia, platonic bed sharing, and poor disoriented concussed Sam. Of course I'm going to favorite this story! lol

I really did love the confusion over whether Dean was dead or not - the moment where Sam stopped fighting Dean in the back of the impala & melted against him. So stellar and well written all around. I'm just continuously perpetually happy you exist as a fic author.

Oh my word. This is worst case scenario stuff right here. I hadn't even considered the problems that would arise from Dean's being dead. Missing his own funeral was one thing but this not being able to go see his brother in the hospital is not good. And Sam was so out of it that he believed them and panicked and ran and this was a terrible terrible scenario. It was good that Pastor Jim was there, though. I really liked his character and sense of humor and the fact that he was /there/ for the guys when their dad wasn't. And this all came together so well, even though it was a terrible scenario. Yeah.

This was perfect. Totally believable that this could have happened if Sam had ended up in a hospital, after all Dean was officially dead according to the authorities. And in his concussed and injured state Sam would book as soon as he was able. A touch of genius bringing Pastor Jim into the mix and love the parts from his POV. Assumed at first the big black car Sam found was the Impala, then realised not when Dean and Pastor Jim started their search. But perfect Dean screeched to a halt when he saw it and found his brother. Perfect ending, and think Pastor Jim having the other bed gave Dean the excuse he needed, not only did Sam need him close but Dean didn't want to be too far from his little brother either, even though he ended up on the floor!

A really great read and yet another fave!

Now this makes sense. The Skin episode aftermath followed them for a quite awhile in the first few seasons. It would only make sense that there had to be mental fallout as well. A lot of the stories are about what Dean does for Sam, but really Dean is Sam's rock so what would happen if that foundation was taken away from him? I really appreciated the inclusion of "home" the big black car that both boys knew.

Am I the only one getting Star Trek flashbacks when Dean talks to Pastor Jim?
