Oof, looks like dear old dad moved to Johto so there's no chance of seeing him unless you have enough money and time to transfer regions...and time is something we are pretty short on.
I actually was thinking something like a closed time loop, like Lucas went back in time and then tried to stop them and failed (and died), but still was able to have a son that grew up as Lucas and you know where it goes from that. I do admit that my heart dropped, but here if sounds more like after Team Galactic took over, he came back and fought but lost. Still had a kid in that time frame though.
