Reviews for Previously Unseen Footage
DemiCas chapter 1 . 12/26/2017
Oh, especially poignant, this one - such a great idea, watching the boys watch the tape, with Dean's time almost up. Good timing for me, since I'm about to settle down with No Rest for the Wicked.

Had my first post-op today; I am apparently healing well. I will continue to snuggle with the boys, either here or on DVD while my own boy fusses with his new canoe.

Thanks for coming along with. Hope you had a lovely Christmas.
ripopenreality chapter 1 . 12/2/2016
"The quiet "You all right?" that became "You're all right" at Sam's continued agitation, unheard by the camera but powerful in Sam's memory. Dean helping him up, supporting him while he found his balance."

This is so key to their characterizations and relationship, I love how you were able to put it into words. Thank you so much, as always, for writing such a great fic!

Oh, I never taugt about that they watched the hole thing, and how this must have been :) great Story
LunaBianca chapter 1 . 3/14/2016
This concept is brilliant and excellently rendered.
Have you discovered other opportunities for Sam and Dean to literally replay events and get a different POV? That would be a fun plot device. ;)

Emotions! Love it. Big time fan, long time reader! Still love to chip away at your immense collection of supernatural stories.
NoilyPrat chapter 1 . 12/20/2014
Totally love this fanfic - it definitely filled in the holes the episode had. Glad Dean could see what Sam went through, and Sam could see how Dean reacted - I like the fact they saw each other that way.

hadn't thought about it, but Dean would've done the mechanics for electromagnet. Had thought Sam would've, but Dean's good at fixing mechanical things up. :D
Fi Suki Saki chapter 1 . 6/9/2014
reading this made me think, what would happen if the video was published before deleted by Dean's electromagnet?

what would people thinking?!
sapphireswimming chapter 1 . 4/7/2013
I really liked how you went back and forth between Sam and Dean and the footage from the episode. The transitions between each perspective really added in extra layers to what was already an interesting story. But Sam and Dean having a chance to see how the other acted and reacted while they were separated is something that they've never really had a chance to do before, so it added a lot.

And how are you able to write such perfect scenes? Like this one:

He'd seen his brother in just about every shade possible, but that was when Dean was there to ease the fear and share the anger. This raw courage when Sam was alone and scared was something else.

Dean looked over and saw his brother's tongue dart out, licking dry lips. Reliving this couldn't be any picnic for him, either. He nudged Sam in the side, watched the wide eyes dart over to his.

"Nice hat."

Sam sputtered a tiny laugh, just between them.

There. That was the brother Dean knew.

These missing scenes fit perfectly with the episode, and provide some much-appreciated insight. Thanks for sharing!

The North Wyn chapter 1 . 5/18/2010
Excellent missing scenes! A few of my favorite lines:

"Another moment, and he'd be blowing off both Sam and his wounded pride. Sam quickly nodded. "That'll work," he said with a smile. "Not bad, bro." Dean perked up. While trying to give the impression he could care less. It was pretty cool, actually, being able to have that effect on him." - This is just too adorable. I can totally picture the look on Dean's face and Sam's catching on and giving him much-needed praise is so sweet!

"Maybe you could teach an old geek new tricks. And maybe Sam would eventually let other people in when—if—Dean was gone, too." - I'm glad Dean's worried about Sam finding friends. And I love the line about teaching old geeks new tricks. Clever and totally something Dean would say!

I also love the brothers nudging each other as they watch the footage. Good job!
Whilom chapter 1 . 8/30/2009
Aw, I loved these missing moments, especially how hard it was for Dean to see Sam tied up in that chair and Sam recognizing Dean's ratcheting levels of desperation when he disappeared.
BlueSea14 chapter 1 . 1/9/2009
I really liked these missing moments from the episode, the ones that happened when we were actually watching the Ghostfacers footage. I really enjoyed the look at what Sam and Dean were feeling as they watched themselves on the screen. It was interesting to be on the other side, and to see what they were thinking.

I also loved the electromagnet scene, because that was entertaining-to visualize Sam's face when he realized what his brother had just put together. Dean would definitely have been a smart Winchester, but he probably would also have driven his teachers insane-I don't think he would be able to sit still in a classroom when there was stuff he thought was more important. In a normal life, he would have been the talented, gifted, but utterly unmotivated young man. Who would also be every teacher's nightmare, if he got it into his head to be a nuiscance.

Good job!
Holly Lukeman chapter 1 . 1/4/2009
"Ghostfacers" is still one of my favorite episodes. I get an inexplicable kick out of seeing Sam and Dean from someone else's POV, especially when it's in something as normal as a reality show. The stark contrast never fails to make me laugh, and I've seen the episode three times.

This story added to my enjoyment of the episode, filling in some missing scenes and drawing attention to the bond between the brothers that was viewed with some distance. The reactions you wrote were definitely ones that Sam and Dean would have, and the silent communication between the two is evident (another part of this episode that was interesting to see from a different POV). I like that you drew attention to the fact that Dean noticed Sam's disappearance in about two seconds, and that he was more than capable of putting the pieces together in order to find his brother in time.

One of the things I noticed in this episode was that Dean's usual sarcastic snipes and jibes at the Ghostfacers occurred before and after Sam was taken, with none during. Also it was evident by Dean's behavior that he was freaked about Sam's disappearance. This story does a great job capturing that and showing how close the two are. The conclusion of your story was sad, ending with Dean's hope that Sam would connect to others even after he was gone. That nearly had me in tears.

Good work.
