This story was an absolute pleasure to read and SO much better than 'Scarlett'. The changes to the story were well thought out and the banter between Scarlett and Rhett was perfect. Thank you for sharing.

Absolutely perfect scene! Just the right balance of steam and sweetness.

Nine chapters in and Rhett admits to Scarlett that he loves (yeah!) but there are still seven chapters left. Do I sense some drama on the horizon? An easy reconciliation between Scarlett and Rhett would be unreasonable and completely out of character lol. Loving this!

Even though Rhett has had the shock of his life -Scarlett dead-baby-Scarlett alive- he still has the upper hand over Scarlett who has a classic Scarlett response to his arrival: slamming the door in Rhett's face. Perfect. So much better than AR's novel which was named after our spunky heroine but clearly was dealing with a different Scarlett and Rhett.

After all that has happened between Scarlett and Rhett, we seem to enjoy making Rhett suffer and feel remorse for his actions and words. He certainly experiences sorrow and regret in this chapter. My money is on Scarlett 's grandmother because no one would kill Scarlett off this early in a story. Right? Right?

This is so much better than that so called sequel. Rhett's reaction to Scarlett's letter was heartbreaking and honest. It's too bad he couldn't have been more honest in canon. Rosemary now understands that she shouldn't mess around when it comes to her brother.

I so HAPPY you've decided to ignore the whole ridiculous marriage to Anne plotline because it would never have happened (its unlikely a divorce would have occurred either). I love that with some prodding from his mother, Rhett can admit that he still loves Scarlett. Let's hope he finds her soon. I thoroughly dislike the meddling Butler sibling.

I steadfastly refused to read Scarlett (as well as the other sequels/prequels) until recently. There were so many things wrong with Ripley's novel (divorce, Anne, etc) that I had to turn to fanfics to rectify her errors. I set an alert for this story a while ago (to remind me to read it) and am interested in seeing where you take this. The letter that Scarlett wrote screams Scarlett O'Hara. I have an odd feeling that Scarlett will not die and the letter will still get delivered.

What a great story! I just loved this! Normally I dislike Scarlett stuff bc 1) i hate the idea of them getting divorced and 2) of the fact it took forever for Rhett to meet his child but in this story the divorce doesn’t seem so bad especially since he really doesn’t miss much time with the baby. I just love love love this story! I finished it in a day. Good job i know it’s old and I’m late but hey better late than never lol

I really enjoyed your story, so much better than Scarlett by Ripley. I will definitely imagine things working out your way from now on!

This was a wonderful story. You are so right about Rhett marrying someone after Scarlett..it would never have happened the way Ripley wrote it. I could of read more and more pages if this. You kept them in character just a little more mature. So great!

Disappointed that we didn’t see Scarlett reunited with her other children.

Their pillow talk is always so revealing. Imagining Rosemary in the stables with the resident ghost was a real treat. Congratulations! Never would have guessed this was your maiden voyage and it now supplants huge sections of that misguided sequel (whose best section was getting to know the O'Hara relatives in Savannah). Being late to the party, more of your writing awaits!
