Okay, why haven't I stumbled across this gem before? This is awesome! It's everything I want in a Batman fanfic in one clear, succinct piece. I wasn't happy at all with "The Dark Knight Rises." One of my biggest gripes with the movie centers on all the loose ends. This answers one of the burning questions I had: What became of Coleman Reese? There's no way the police were going to let him fade into a distant memory after Batman was branded a cop killer.

I can't even begin to describe how much I love this story! Bruce is perfect: Suave and dangerous, simultaneously charming and threatening, and hands down in control of the situation. Loved how Reese squirmed and had no choice. But most of all, this is a logical way for Bruce to handle the situation. Reese has skills he can utilize, so why not take advantage? Awesome! I just wish this hadn't flown under my radar for nearly six years.

Very interesting. I wondered what had happened to that little would-be blackmailer! I liked the cover story Bruce came up with, and Bruce and Reese seem to be IC. I like the ambiguous ending... you've set it up nicely for a sequel/continuation (perhaps unintentionally?), yet it could end here just as neatly. Not sure if there's much of a story in a continuation, but it could be an interesting behind-the-scenes look at Batman/Bruce. Esp. since Reese isn't inclined to be one of Bruce's biggest fans. Anyhow, good luck with your future writing!

That was hilarious! Reese was one of my favorite "comic" elements in the Dark Knight, and it was great seeing Bruce get one more last laugh on him. You tied up the loose ends very nicely. Great one-shot!

Ah, yes. Yes. Here's what I've been looking for. Someone willing to delve into the 'tying up of lose ends' while maintaining a caliber of writing that is true to the characters. I felt the dialog was honest and believable for the movie-verse set up in Nolan's films, and appreciate the way it played out in my mind as I read it. I would surely like to see some more Batman stories!
