aw! this was so sad! i love how you turned a Solitare game into a quest...kinda. to help sweeney move on. how it could become a game for two. was he looking for her and the card in the end? i hope he was. this was such a great oneshot, i lovett! very well written. i hope to see more from you soon!

I really loved this story. I love the use of the game of solitaire in connection with the lonliness these two have experienced in their lifetimes. The answer seems so simple for these two to be together but they are both hesitant (well sweeney mostly). I love the fact that you left the story's ending to the readers interpretation. I personally think it will take along time but sweeney will one day come to terms with his true feelings for the baker and take that ace card. Really nice work. Like you said short and sweet!
