I very much enjoyed this piece, well written, good story.

oh wow that was really good! and the end "the moment he realized sam's trust in him was gone." wow that just hit home for the whole story its so perfect, just...wow, this is an amazing story I still cant get over that end line it sent shivers down my spine!

Ah, this is really wonderful. A really great look on how things might have gone. This unfolded at just the right pace and holy cow you had the characters' voices down so well that I could /hear/ this all playing out.

This is perfect, and I'm in love with it.

This was great. Stupid John, how could he do that to sam? At least dean ws there to save the day and watch out for Sam. Sam's lucky to have such a good brother even if his father is lacking. Nice story!

Oh GOD, I want some form of sequel to this. John feeling guitly being the primary need here. And of course we don't hate John. John is an awesome character, but sometimes he tends to lose sight of the big picture. So rock on and please, please, pretty-please continue this?

Sometimes John Winchester is such a moron! My God! That poor baby could have been killed and for what? So "dad" could see if he was a good shot? I've always considered Bobby to be the better father to those boys. I've always thought that if Bobby raised those boys maybe they wouldn't be so screwed up. I love my boys. No scratch that I ADORE my boys but they have many flaws and hang ups that I sometimes don't think they would have had if Bobby was their daddy. Okay I'm clinmbing down off my soapbox now! What a fantastic story! I think maybe you should write some kind of a sequel where we can see how Sammy got through basically being betrayed by his father and his brother even though I know this was not Deans fault. He was just following "orders". EXCELLENT JOB!

Ah, another delicious hurt/comfort fic! You write them so well! I love this idea...of John trying to "train" Sammy, Dean being reluctant, and then Sam getting hurt. Dean's angst is so real, so moving as he struggles with letting his dad do this, then sees his little bro attacked and runs to his side to help him. I love the emotions expressed in this fic too. That John really does love Sam, but will eventually realize that Sam looks to Dean and Dean has assumed the role of his primary protector and that Sam ultimately has lost his trust and respect in his father and now only really looks to Dean. John pushing hunting on Sammy really did drive a wedge between the two of them. Too bad John didn't "get" Sam, understand his son's needs back then. If he had, maybe he could have found a way to reach Sam rather than alienate him. Anyway, I could contemplate their relationship forever! Just know this was great! Thanks for sharing your writing talents with us!
