and if this fic is a main character death (aka Itachi or Sasuke or both dying, which is where this seems to be going, and I can't stand main character death fics) you should put it as a warning to the summary or/and at the top of the first chapter.

Damn... this is so good! Well-written and fairly in character, with just the right amount of humor to ease tensions. I liked how the roles of Sasuke and Itachi were somewhat warped, with Sasuke acting like an older brother, yet at the same time not. Though I think it was a bit cruel of him to make Itachi suffer like that in the first few chapters, I find that it was a very, er, Sasuke-ish thing to do? Uh. I mean, he was justified in feeling disappointment because Itachi never gave him a choice about the whole situation. And since Sasuke's been hellbent on revenge for most of his life, he didn't know how to react to Itachi still being alive, that he couldn't just regret the loss of his brother and get his rightful revenge on Konoha. It's almost as if the unconditional love Itachi has for his little brother is, in a way, incomprehensible to Sasuke. Which is why I think he became so angry whenever Itachi put Sasuke above himself, even when experiencing severe pain. (Ah. I don't think I made sense -.-).

Also, I'm a sucker for brotherly love between the two, so it was wonderful to see Sasuke trying to take care of Itachi as the story progressed. I'm a bit sad that this fic hasn't been updated in a while, but I guess chapter 9 could be an ending of sorts (as one of your reviewers said), though it would be a bittersweet sort of vagueness, leaving the readers to decide whether or not Sasuke took Itachi's eyes or gave Itachi his own eyes. Seriously, though, it would be great if you finished this story someday!
