I really enjoyed this exchange between two friends. Carefully crafting their friendship and encompassing the ability to empathize was precious. You make me wonder now what you could do with a Shika x Ten story when Tenten loses Neji. Thanks for sharing!

Nice story. It actually makes sense that Shika would start to ramble when something's troubling him, despite how psychotic it make look. Lol. I liked the "oh, is it really that obvious?" part. Haha, that was brilliant! Nice job. :)

I like it. Friendship stories between Shika and Tenten are really interesting, although I cannot really remember if they've interacted in the manga. Except maybe in the forest of death. Which is like, what, for two seconds?

I love it seriously especially the Shikamaru slapping. I think it's more of Ino cause I dont think Temari would waste her time in Konoha slapping shika.

I love the dialogue. Very crisp and believable. I can honestly imagine those two as really good friends and Tenten was definitely a good choice for him to turn to. The irony of Shikamaru, a lazy genius, sorting out his problems through rambling about something barely passable as a conversation to a girl, no less, was a very clever ploy. Loved the platonic teasing between the two! Great chemistry. Awesome job on the fic! Hoping for some more Shika Ten stuff (platonic or not).

This is, in a word, lovely. It isn't too fiddled with, it doesn't seem contrived (as many fanfics are) and the pure sense of their friendship jumps off of the page. It seems...real. Plausible. I like your Tenten here - she isn't glorified and that's something I always look for in stories about the obscure kunoichi.

"Good," she murmured, the look in her eye softening. "Now, from the beginning."

He nodded once, looked down. "She hit me–"

"NO." Tenten glared. She shook him and forced him to look at her. "From the beginning, Shikamaru."

This would be my favourite part. I can't quite say way, but I like that. And - for the record - I read this story and see Ino, not Temari.
