I read Set Free and I needed more of your writing so here I am!
I honestly love how, and this is something you did in Set Free, sasunaru is apart of the story but it's not the whole story. It's about Naruto's life and he may happen to be in love with Sasuke but it's something that he hasn't even stopped to think about yet. I'm enjoying this so far and it's nice to see Kyuubi be nicer than the garbage he was in Set Free. I'm excited to see where this will go!

I'm enjoying this so far. It was a very, very pleasant surprise that Kyuubi wanted Naruto to sell weed and didn't try to whore him out. Mini fandom rant: Literally, in every fic I've ever read for this fandom (and I've been reading fics for 7 years), whenever Naruto has a major debt to repay, sex always plays a role in how he repays it. It's honestly gross and disappointing how quick Naruto (the character) fic writers like to jump on the rape and prostitution bandwagon. Maybe it's just a way to make us instantly pity the character they stan for, idk. Other fandoms, hell, even people who write other characters for this fandom besides the MC, don't do this as consistently as Naruto stans do. So you get major kudos from me for being original in your plot and not doing the gross plot that everyone else does.

But back to the story itself. It's interesting that Orochimaru has just shown up because I assumed most of the problems in the story would come from Naruto being a drug dealer. I wonder how you will make both plotlines, Naruto selling drugs and the possible reemergence of Orochmaru, tie into one another? Will Naruto's drug dealing be discovered and that's what discredits him as a witness in Orochimaru's parole hearing...or? In a literary sense, both Naruto becoming a drug dealer and Orochimaru's parole hearing showed up at the same time in the story, which means that eventually, the two plotlines have to converge in some way.

It's quite understandable that with everything Naruto's experienced, he wouldn't want to talk about his past. However, the fact that he won't share anything about himself makes me wonder how close he really is to Sasuke and Sakura. Are these deep friendships or not? If Naruto had to switch foster homes and go to a different school, would he just pick himself up and move on, or would he try to remain friends with the two of them? Naruto doesn't seem close to Suigetsu despite everything they went through together, so I've a feeling he might move on.

On the other hand, Naruto took the fall for Sasuke's mistake, but did he do that strictly for Sasuke's sake, or out of his own feelings of self-reliance? In my opinion, Naruto did it for his own principles more so than for Sasuke. Is Itachi abusive? Would something bad happen to Sasuke if they told him the truth? It doesn't seem like it. They could have gotten the money for the car from Sasuke's trust fund. So what is Naruto protecting him from? If he told the truth, Naruto wouldn't have to sell drugs or risk getting a criminal record and hurting his chances of going to college.

If it's not fear for his friend that's making him take this chance, then perhaps it's a lack of trust in him. Maybe Naruto doesn't feel like he can rely on anyone but himself, so that's why he automatically doesn't want Sasuke involved in his problem. Because Sasuke crashing Kyuubi's car kind of is his problem, more than it is Sasuke's. Yes, Sasuke was the one who drank too much and crashed the car, but sober Naruto was the one who handed over the keys to his dad's car. So Naruto thinks he's going to take care of this problem by himself like he has with every other problem he's always faced. Which isn't a good thing if you're going to ship them because Naruto should be able to trust in other people, especially if he's romantically involved with them. Thankfully, the story is already addressing this issue via Sakura's speech about Naruto refusing to talk about himself, so I'll wait to see if/when he finally opens up to his friends.

Finally, there's Sasuke. Okay yes, he feels sorry for Naruto getting in trouble and his guilty attitude seemed genuine. But! Naruto is now talking about getting a part-time job to pay for the car and Sasuke is just going to let him do it?! So what if Sasuke's promised to pay him back when he's 18? That's still many hours' worth of labor in a minimum-wage job (or so Sasuke thinks) that Naruto shouldn't have to do. If Sasuke was a decent person, he'd at least offer to share Naruto's load and get a part-time job with him. Even better, Sasuke would insist on getting the job himself and hand over the paycheck to Naruto every month!

Naruto shouldn't have to carry the entire burden himself for the next couple of years while all Sasuke gets to do is write a check when he turns 18. His lack of responsibility in this matter is very bad. It's especially bad because Naruto is supposedly his best friend and the person he has a crush on. If this is how he treats a person he cares for so much, how would he treat someone he doesn't have any feelings for? Would he kick them into the gutter? The story has already called Sasuke selfish, so I'll wait to see if/when he fixes his attitude and starts paying attention to the lessons he's learning in his ethics class.

Okay I really extremely like the idea of the story. I don't like how it's a saskue/ naruto romance story. Naruto is all ready going through enough, I wish you would just make this a close friend ship stories with them talking about girl troubles if you wanted to put romance in it. Naruto doesn't need a boy friend he needs a best friend who will always be there for him and it get jealous. I wish you would've gone into more details in the first two chapters like elaborated on the characters feelings and how kubyi looked and described their apartment. Idk I just need more details. Also I hope kakashi and jiraya has a more important role in naruto a life and actually helps him bc kubyi is a really bad influence on the kid. I am a sophomore in Highschool and I am also 16 just like the characters in the story and you are 100% on point on how many kids drink and smoke so you're definiely accurate on that part. Also I hope naruto makes it far in his soccer career to already be this good as a sophomore is amazing.

I've read it in January, then decided to follow in August. It's been six years since last update, but, hey, it doesn't cost me anything, right? But it happened. Come backs like that always make you hopeful for thousands of other incomplete fics.
