Great story so far. Using Jon as the Voice to stop Zahir from bullying the other Pages was brilliant. It was the first I’d ever read using that explanation, it fit perfectly

I loved the Protector of the Small quartet and was wary of your story at first. However, I had a surprisingly pleasant read of a Dramione story when my curiosity won that battle. So I was able to be a bit more easily open minded here, plus your description intrigued me. I'm very glad I read your story! You did a wonderful job keeping Kel true to her self, Joren obviously could not have the same treatment. I love how you changed his character it was rather lovely watching him grow into a respectable and caring individual. I also very much appreciate that you sped through what you did to get to the fluffy stuff faster. I loved the longer chapters and tend to really enjoy the stories with many chapters like yours. As with all good reads I was sad to see the story come to a close. You are a wonderful writer and if you ever do write your own books I might like to read them as I'm sure they would be fantastic. You have an amazing gift don't let the world discourage you from using it. Happy writing!

I started to read this many years ago and decided that it wasn’t to my taste so I stopped reading after only the first few chapters. Now, 10 years after its completion and with more maturity, I came across it again and have read it all the way through.
This was more than I ever expected and I loved it. This was well done and I can’t imagine it being done any other way. Thank you.

It has been almost ten years since you've finished this but I felt a compelling desire to review regardless. While I have been enjoying your work very much, I am actually writing this because I have a bit of a problem with some of what is written (sorry).

I'm guessing it's a plot point that they don't actually have sex until after they get married in the last chapter? However, it drives me a little nutty that Joren decides to 'claim' her in order to achieve this. I am a firm believer that a woman's body is her own and that she should make such decisions herself as she wishes (with full disclosure to those involved). I don't know yet if Joren is about to go through with it but I find it quite... misogynistic? chauvinist? and extremely aggravating that he thinks he can own her. In my mind, I think it would be far better for him to decide to respect her enough and trust her enough to make her own decisions and CHOOSE not to be with anyone else (in line with the implicit understanding that they are exclusive - because there also is nothing wrong with other arrangements).

Anyway, with that off my chest, I can happily return to reading your wonderful, evil tormenting of the two of them. I never imagined while reading PotS that I would enjoy reading a Kel/Joren fic so much! Again, sorry for the complaint.

I'm super glad that you addressed the thing where J was aware that V wanted to do terrible things to L and didn't seem to give a crap. It made me want to falcon punch him in the throat.

i have this fantasy that somewhere down the line, one of kel's sons kisses a daughter of neal and turns this into a three generation thing when they realize they are like siblings also.

This story was absolutely amazing. I've always wondered how things would have been different if Joren really had been the only volunteer or if he had been the one chosen. The development of their relationship was realistic while stil gripping and the tension between them had me reading as fast as I could to see what happened next.

I'll be sharing this fanfic with my friends who also are fans of Tamora Pierce and her work for sure as well as adding this to my favourites:)

I truly loved this story! I especially liked the view we got of the gods' interferences and guiding hands.

I haven't finished this yet, i'm only on chapter 7 or so, I just wanted to say I LOVE THIS. And by the way, it equal a little over 2, 400 page books. Amazing, right?

haha i love the part about the pact and wyldons take on the boy pages being interested in kel etc. I never thought of it that way before and i ike how you portrayed it as still accurate but with a new point of view
