This fic gets more messed up by the chapter...and that's a good thing! Naruto and Sasuke *thought* they had a perfect relationship, but it turns out no one liked Sasuke and they were all talking about him behind his back. And unfortunately, Neji makes a good point that scheduling all of his future plans around Naruto may not have been such a great thing for Sasuke.

I think as the fic goes, on it will be important for Naruto to ask himself why everyone thinks Sasuke was benefiting the most from the relationship, and why all their friends (even Iruka!) don't like him. From what we've seen, Sasuke was giving more to the relationship than Naruto: Sasuke has chosen not to go to the best university he can for Naruto's sake. He's the one pushing Naruto to do well academically so they can go to college together. (What would Naruto's grades be like if not for that?) And Naruto claims Sasuke pays for everything when it comes to their expenses. There's no question that Sasuke's feelings for Naruto are genuine; however, can all of those people really be 100% wrong?

Supposing they are all wrong, will Naruto be able to spend the next four weeks continuing to believe in Sasuke without letting everyone else's negativity influence him? How far will Naruto let his friends go in their negativity? Will he defend Sasuke, or let them continue dragging his name through the mud? There's a limit to what he should allow if he intends to eventually get back together with Sasuke.

Supposing there's some truth to what they say, will it be a good thing or a bad thing for them if the flaws in their relationship get exposed in this way? Naruto and Sasuke can become a stronger couple for this experience if it helps them address their issues, or they can breakup if they decide everyone else was right about them and they really don't work.

On Sasuke's end, he's just painfully found out that one one likes him, and that the only real friend he has is Naruto. Friends always choose sides in a breakup, but Kiba & co. didn't just take Naruto's side, it turns out they were never on Sasuke's side to begin with! At least there's a lot of good that could come out of this revelation. For his own benefit, Sasuke needs to make real friends of his own, people who don't just tolerate him for Naruto's sake, but want to be with him because they like him. He also needs to find people he likes so he doesn't rely on Naruto all the time for his only socializing. That places too much of a burden on Naruto (maybe in this one instance, Naruto's friends are right), and it isn't good for Sasuke to be so insulated. Perhaps Neji could be his first friend? If not Neji (or in addition to Neji), there's always Karin, Suigetsu, and Jugo who could be new friends. :) We know those three would never treat him like trash.

Unhappily, Neji did bring up a very good point when he said Sasuke using a high school romance to plan his future was a bad idea. Long-distance relationships suck, but a couple that is committed to making it work can get through it. If Sasuke is good enough to get into "The Institute," then he should go. If Naruto loves him, he would want that for him. A friendship with Neji would be a bad thing if it makes Sasuke start to believe Naruto was holding him back when it was his own decision to limit himself, but it might be a good thing if it makes him stop being afraid of separation from Naruto and motivates him to strive for the best for his future. Sasuke shouldn't be so codependent on Naruto that he's got no friends but him and blows his shot at going to his dream university.

I really hope you will continue this at some point cause it looks really good and has great potential and I can't wait to see where this is heading! poor little Sasuke!

I'm enjoying all the drama, both the real and the fake parts. I hope you do continue this. I feel so bad for Sasuke.

I love the idea of this fic! Thank you for updating i noticed you started it years ago...but the flow is still really good! I feel for sasuke...everyone seems to think naruto was too good for him (and though i agree), it kondof must suck no one seems upset the two have broken up...it's like everyonethinks it should have happened a long time ago...i wanna give sasuke a hug lol!

So after the breakup it' s sad to have a reality check who you really are in the eyes of your ex's side. Like Sasuke, it's pretty sad that he's left alone. (TT)

I completely forgot about this story until you updated! I hope you're back for good omg. I'm so worried for them because you can just tell it's going to end in a huge mess omg. I just hope that they won't break up for real in the end.. And I feel so bad for Sasuke to hear their friends talk about him like this :-(
