Beautiful! Just beautiful. It's so heart wrenching to read and bittersweet to think that Zoro wouldn't give up even after all this time, not changing the flag and helping his crewmates fulfill their dreams while they search. At fist it seemed like it was Luffy looking for Shanks, but I love the twist of it being Zoro looking for Luffy. This makes me cry every time with Zoro's longing for the days "before" and the realization that his captain is more than likely gone, but refusing to except it. That last line is just heart breaking.

I actually had to go back and re-read it because at first I thought it was Luffy looking for Shanks until it was said Zoro was the one with the hat. Mind games, I tell you.
The angst is real. I really hope you didn't intend for Luffy to be dead ;_; I love that idiot too much.

Ah, you tricked me! I thought Shanks was the dead one and Luffy was looking for him, not Zoro looking for his potentially dead best friend and captain! Jeez this was a good one :)

I'm with Zoro on this, no body, no proof. Luffy's out there somewhere, probably either held captive by someone, gravely injured for an extremely long time, or an amnesiac. The only proof I'd accept though if I were Zoro is if someone showed up with the power of the gumu gumu nomi. Cause if he's honestly dead then he must be really gone by this point...
For some strange reason I thought for sure it was about Shanks. I thought Luffy put off his quest to find Shanks cause he can't do it and then not give his hat back, that would be breaking the promise.
Also, I'm gonna assume Ace doesn't die here. (and that Luffy doesn't either because Luffy 4ever)
