I liked that. :)
Ikurus chapter 2 . 5/6/2013
Brilliant.
Thank you for writing and sharing this.
Lucillia chapter 2 . 5/19/2012
That was quite a good little story.

I really like this story. All the little touches, like Death being polite to War, Famine and Pollution working together, and Crowley sending the fish to Barbados add a lot to the story. Great job with it!

I really love all your Good Omens fics. You get the tone and the characters so well.

I stumbled over you on this site after recognising your name as the author of that lovely Yuletide fic about the Patrician's dog, and was really thrilled to see you've written longer Pratchett fic too. Great stuff!
fledge chapter 2 . 1/18/2009
So Administration is NOT a hellish invention? Weird, how a law of nature also forces supernatural organisations to follow it. Hard to say which is better, the political satire or the psychology of human (and non-human) minds. Wonderful allusion to the Quantum Cat, as well - things were certainly a lot easier in pre-quantum times.

And nice to see that dog- and catfish get to have a free holidays in the Caribbean.

The only drawback of an otherwise perfect story is the footnotes(1).

(1) Or, rather, the absence thereof.
fledge chapter 1 . 1/15/2009
An amamaing achievement indeed! You even get the style right - the grotesque irony is excellent! The only thing to be sorely missed is the footnotes! Turning Newcastle Brown Ale into wine? Even if he did manage, I very much doubt it would be fit to drink...

I would have been humming "Fish Heads" myself, but I'm old and I enjoy that sort of thing. Great story-interesting to see how it turned out. I liked the touch with Vista (or as I call it, Vista 95 in honor of its predecessor).

I await the reaction to the megalodon, mind.

(Oh, and Pestilence is still busy in the background, even if he's working more quietly these days. Several million dead chickens in Asia attest to the efforts humans make to thwart his designs, though personally I think flesh-eating bacteria was a bit of showing off).

Excellent start! I like it all immensely, and as a Statesian feel rather happy that other people have fun with their politics, too.
