Bravo! That was such a beautiful and well developed story! Everything was done so well and tastefully - the drama, the action, the smut, the romance, the suspense! And all so very believably done and in character! I just devoured this and I’m looking forward to reading more of your stories! Thank you for pouring so much into this story and sharing it with us!

Phew! Saved in the nick of time! I really love that you had Gene being the one that needed the saving. So often it’s Alex, and the line at the end of the chapter where she soothes him by saying she’s got him! Yeah that’s solid gold! Because sometimes it’s the women who are the badasses and save the men!

TThis is soooooo intense! As much of a bitch as she was, I’m sorry for the death of Maggie. And I just hope they CID team can find Gene in time!

Also! Double triple GASP! With the prior two hangings, weren’t they both a husband and wife combo that we’re hanged? So where my mind is going is that even though they’re divorced, the fact that Maggie was hanged and since Gene was knocked over the head, perhaps the intention of his capturer is to hang him too!

GAAAAASPPP! Holy hell that was such an unexpected turn of events! Both the attack on Gene and the hanging of Maggie! It’s gotta be the Masons! But I still wonder about Brian and his church. But this somehow has Super MAC written all over it. I’m convinced! I hope Alex finds Gene quickly!

With each subsequent chapter I am just amazed at all the little plot lines that weave together. It all fits together very well. It makes me excited for the next chapter and the next chapter etc.

OMG this was such an emotional chapter! So well written and navigated! What a relief that they were able to talk it out and work towards mending the damage. And the single tear that fell from Gene’s eye! So much pain!

This is becoming too stressful! Fingers crossed they can weather all of the storms coming at them. Curious to find out what the real story is about the crumbling of the Hunt’s marriage and who is at fault. I really do think it’s Maggie because she seems super conniving and always up to something.

I just remembered what Alex said about the potential murderer of the hanging victim that he could be doing it to inflict capital punishment. And now I’m wondering if that has anything to do with the religious stuff that Brian is involved in! A thrilling tale you are telling!

Hmmmm I wonder about Kath’s son Brian. This involvement with church could seem like it would lead to him being up to know good... Amd well done with the Super MAC stuff. He’s a right old bastard and you’ve captured his voice so well. Just as you’ve captured Alex and Gene so well.

As much as I hate her, I’m very much looking forward to more ex Mrs. Hunt. I’m sure the showdown between her and Alex will be nothing but fireworks.

So poetic and so beautiful. I’m glad you coupled them instead of having us suffer through an angsty dance of will they or won’t they. I imagine there will be more bumps in the road ahead, but Gene and Alex are stronger when they’re together. And this is just great!

Oh God! The domesticity of this is so delightful! I just love it all! They seem so in sync with where they are in trying to start a relationship and learning about each other. It’s so lovely to watch it all unfold.

Ugh! They are too much and I love it! I love that Gene is taking care of Alex but that he’s not a pushover to her because of his feelings. That convo between them in the car as they were leaving the hospital - I love that tough concern he has for her.
