Very sweet story! one historical issue though... You mentioned George Washington's Continental Army, but this story takes place almost exactly 100 years after Washington was doing his thing. Was that supposed to be a reference to their history lesson that I missed or just a hiccup? hopefully that helps!

I wonder if the last two lines in this poem would add any depth of context or understanding of personal motive to the naritive? (maybe with future chapters?). what a cute chapter! i love anne and gil's blossoming romance!

This reminds me of Gilbert's comment in AoA after Lavendar marries Paul Irvings father. Anne thought it very romantic, and he said something along the lines of how it would have been more romantic if there had been no misunderstanding or separation in the first place. By listening to his father's words, he's changed their course. I will be interested to see what happens now.
