I know it's been a while since publication, but I just wanted to let know how much of a gratifying read this story was (and the whole of the 'Stray' series). This installment in particular, methinks, fits seamlessly into canon narrative (the slot between 2.01 and 2.02 with all the underlying repercussions of taking Manticore down) and casts a pensive spin onto the subdued complexity of Max/Alec dynamics. (On a shallower note: these two just 'worked' on so many levels from the get-go).

All in all, thank you for such an insightful read.

Please , please, why not to continue this from the perspective of joinning at jam pony? And then the growing friendship/atraction/love of them both?

I liked this part just as much. Interesting having a Alec with seizures. I liked the bathroom scene alot. Thanks for a great read.

The different story line is very interesting. It shows the X-5 in them more than DA even showed. To see them act as soldiers more than people and to show a mind manipulated Max is different. Great writing.

This is such a well written fic. It has that underlying tone of hurt/comfort that I love. You did deviate from the time line but you wrote it so well and it flows so nicely that it works. I love the vulnerability you showed in them without going OOC. Awesome.

P.S. I love the "Yes! That's what I want the person in my bed to do!" line.

Oh man, this made me absolutely melt. First he's hurt, then the seizures, then he allows himself that moment of willing vulnerability in her arms and he still manages to come across as a strong man. I love it, it was a fine line you walked there and you did it beautifully. Wouldn't mind having him guard my back in bed. -laugh- Thank you for this alternate view on our boy Alec.

YAY MAX/ALEC GOODNESS! :DDD I heart this totally, I swear. Usually, I can't really get involved in the long endlessly winding plotty chapters, and this is so good and concise and I swear I love it, but I almost wish it was longer...

that was definitely some Max and Alec goodness LOL IT would have been interesting if they met again like that on the show. It showed that they are there for one another when each other is vulnerable. LOVE IT!

There are two things that I wish:

That you had written more Dark Angel fanfiction so I wouldn't have only two short stories left. It's like when you've only got a forkful and a half of an unexpectedly dessert. It was delicious, yet you feel sad and somehow unsatisfied.

Also, that you had a favorites section I could gleefully pillage for other, similarly good DA stories, without the tedious and occasionally eyeball searing work of having to slog through the general records of Dark Angel fanfiction without a "No Shit Stories, Please" filter to screen you from the writings of prepubescent girls attempting to write smut or yaoi.

On the subject of this story specifically:

I wish to thank you. Because this is exactly something I've been looking for, in fact, it is exactly one of the things that has nearly goaded me into writing DA fanfiction myself simply for the satisfaction; you wrote a wonderful story with Alec and Max as realistic people, and behaving like realistic people with each other, and more than that, sharing the sorts of real, quiet-and-screamingly-loud moments that define lives in the slow moments without high-strung drama and overwrought glory.

This was fanastic, and while I look forward to both The Cat Came Back (which I will probably read before being able to hit the sack at last) and By Any Other Name, I am also ad that after that, that's it. That's all there is; there isn't any more.

Subsequently, you will now be added to my Stalk!Watch, in the hopes that you're not done with this fandom yet.

PS: I'm also considering reading some of your Supernatural fanfiction, as it appears to be in the blessed minority, lacking in Wincest (a term I can't help but squint at every ime) and other unfounded gay relationships among established heterosexual or apparently asexual (cough-Castiel) characters. We'll see. God knows I need ANOTHER fnadom to frolic in like I need a lobotomy.

That was awesome! I love your observations about them as soliders and how they would be different!

I like that you gave them some time together without arguing, and again I really like that she's being supportive and understanding rather than harsh and judgmental. The whole seizure deal seemed realistic after what his body has obviously been put through. I did like the bit of Max/Alec banter that you gave us at the end, but I'm grateful it was only a little bit and only at the very end. I also like the promise of future. Good work :)
