Whoa. That was a pretty unique ending!

Very dark! I feel bad for L and Light but Kira totally deserved that, his need to gloat was his downfall here. I wonder how the Task Force took it as? Would they know Light was Kira? Assuming they had access to camera footage and think about the whole scene like Light saying Kira planned it all etc...

I would have enjoyed this story so much more if I didn't have DN facts memorized in my head. Light couldn't have died, because his lifespan was longer. One cannot die before their lifespan unless killed by the Death Note. Therefore, Light couldn't have died. Which makes me wonder- even if he'd gotten caught by L, he wouldn't have been executed... Or even at the end of the series, he wouldn't have died of gunshots.
But it was an amazing read overall.

Man, all I could think of after reading the end: as if this were a Death Note dating game or something with multiple endings, this was the "VERY BAD END". XP

A very neat story. Heartwrenching and tragic. Seemed pretty in-character, if not pushed to more dramatic extents; but I guess the situation kind of called for it.

Maaan, Light thought he had everything figured out... Talk about knocking him off his high horse.

OH MY GOD! That was GREAT! Holy hell! I really just can't convey how much I adored that story. Seriously, that was one of the best DN stories I've read. You know how you read those stories and they stick with you? Yeah, this is definitely going to be that for me.

So the story started off lovely and rather soft, and then it ended in one of the most clever conclusions I've ever read in a fanfic.

I applaude you for this, my friend. This was like a horror film in which the main character turns out to be the real killer. The fact that L killed Light without even being controlled by the Death Note was both horrifying and incredibly powerful. The entire buildup with their relationship, as short as the fic was, was perfectly executed.
