A very short chapter, but after all you are returning to this story - and this fandom - after what seems like years away. The pride and prickliness of your Spike Spiegel remains constant, as does his underlying current of hurt and self-hate. That he's capable of even this much introspection and vulnerability is a sea change, though. Faye has changed more: she's no longer purely reactive, and she's finally setting terms and goals for the relationship. Hopefully, that's exactly what Spike needs. It still seems impossible that they'll ever be in a normal relationship … but you can be sure it will be an interesting one.

You know, this fic is really amazing. As much as I struggle with Spike raping her, and her letting him, I KIND of get the drunken rationale behind both their choices and why Spike would be going down this path after the end of the series. This story is nuanced and I'm frankly shocked that it's well written enough that I can believe it all, despite my misgivings about the premise. Looking forward to whatever you post next :) thanks for writing and sharing with us

Finally an update, but a not so happy one. Nevertheless, glad to see you're still updating. Please, post another soon. I need to read more of this couple.

This was a bit depressing indeed. I'm glad you finally updated however! I'm guessing faye got knocked up from earlier events... a little dark but I still an crossing my fingers for the next update.

I love this story, but this chapter kind of felt all over the place. The issues brought up in it, while sad, felt like really sudden reveals of secrets that hadn't even been built up in the story. But I know that having a depressing day really affects how one acts, thinks, and in this case, writes.

Phew. This is heavy. It took me a little to catch myself back up. Maybe a summary of relevant "story so far" for each chapter if they continue to be updated as a similar pace.

I'd like to say that this chapter was worth the wait ... but addicts don't think that way. Very glad to see you haven't quit writing, Vetta. Can't help hoping that you've returned to your story in earnest, and this is the start of a nice long stretch of new postings.

I like the bit of Spike backstory; I expect he'll tie in that little feelsbomb to his loss of Julia, and notice that Faye is different. I'm also glad to see that a simple marriage proposal hasn't magically cleared away the host of issues that lie between them. There's codependency at work between them as well as love, and that needs to be addressed before they can grow together as a real couple. Otherwise they'll always be like magnets with the same polarity: the closer they come together, the greater the forces pushing them apart.

Thisbis one of the best fic i have read about faye and spike, nothing less than the closest description to my favorites character..awsome job...i really enjoyed it and was happy that at the end they do ended up together..without the drama (dying, raping, one sided love ...etc)

Your fic is amazing, I love all the detailed you put on each character; the way you describe spike and faye is so close to the real characters on the anime .
Im really impressed with your work, dying to see whats next. So far i loved every chapter please dont kill them nor let them be apart..i need a happy ending better that the one on the anime and i belive you are giving us one.
