This is a really good story. I like the idea of Jo as one of the special children. And like I said earlier, I like how throughout the story it is clear for the readers (and Sam and Ellen apparently) that Dean has so much affection for Jo. The characters are in-character too, and for me that's important.

But... I do think that the ending is a bit rushed, especially the declaration of love between Dean and Jo. Though I like how it seems that the only reason Ellen fought to stay alive in her condition was because she was worried about Jo. And now that Jo has someone to be there for her, Ellen could rest in peace.

There are also a few things I've noticed in the writing of this story. You tend to write "should of" when I think what you mean is "should have". Because there's no such thing as "should of" and people tend to think "should of" is the correct one because the pronunciation is the same as "should've". I know this is an old story and you probably have known this by now. But it's just one of the thing that bothers me.

Okay, I haven't finished this. But I really have to comment... I love love love... how throughout the story I can feel that Dean has so much affection for Jo it makes my heart just hurt.

I'm only up to chapter 5, but I love this! The Harvelle family seems so mysterious! I like the idea of a more complex, layered past for my favourite hunting family.

All in all an absolutely fantastic story. I really enjoyed it. I loved that you managed scenes that weren't just Dean/Jo, and that you had such a lovely build up. I also loved that Jo wasn't just there, you know? She didn't just experience things that were done to her; she made her own decisions, even though that meant suffering the consequences.

I loved the scenes with Ellen and Jo. I think that's why this last line (even though I suspected it from the car crash) hurt so much; Ellen and Jo have such a wonderful, strong, beautiful relationship, but I think as readers we may forget that in our race to see her as independent and then romantically involved with Dean. Or maybe that's just me. :) Basically, Ellen and Jo and Bobby filling up the empty spaces for Dean and Sam is my perfect ending/family for the boys. We all know that Ellen and Bobby couldn't replace Mary and John, but that doesn't matter.
