   Melle22 chapter 1 . 11/14/2019 Fantastic first lines, and Ziva making another balls joke later just made me giggle. I love that Dean finds a deadly chick hot. And took him only moments to know how to yank Tony's chain, lol. Sam was quiet and sweet, but I'm glad you made it a point to make sure his inner 'ruthlessness' was observed and noted. I'm not sure I can completely agree with Gibbs' final assessment of Dean, though. I think Dean hasn't been a 'kid' for a very very long time, well before he even made it to age 10 and was single parent to Sammy. And 40 years in hell probably makes every bit of humour something to work for. What Dean is, is strong. And his sense of duty can't really be considered inflated when it was forced on him in one way or another since he was four. I think his flippancy and smart mouth is like Sam's need to hunch down and be as unintimidating as possible: its a cover, a way to seem 'normal' or be what people expect to see, or in Sam's case, to be seen as little as possible. I loved this and am so excited to see another fic to read in this 'verse! |
