Ooh, this is really good! You strike a delightful balance between appropriately horrifying monsters and a lack of purple prose when it comes to describing them, which I really enjoy! I also like how you've dealt with the characters, especially the split between Hotaru/the Silence. It's not something I've seen before, but It really worked with the 'creeping horror' kind of fight that she was trapped in, to give it a bit more tension to the stakes while not nerfing the Silence's power any.

The Amazon's are most certainly evil, they can be useful, but the very fact that they have a law, that say they must murder women for daring to win a spar, proves they are evil, then there's the fact they must turn any man who win a spar into their sex slave(I consider forcing someone to marry you sex slavery, all the more when you resort to drugs and mind control, as Shampoo occasionally do)

They aren't the threat here, and using them against the greater evil is smart, but they most certainly are evil.

There are only a handful of fics that I return to read again and again because I enjoyed reading it each time. I discovered this story about six months after you posted chapter 5 and I still hope that chapter 8 comes soon. Please keep writing!
