I know people are complaining about the open ending, but I actually really loved it! It felt right. Also this line

was spot-on. We always see people stating it the other way, where Kira and L are the ones that get in the way but I thought mixing it up was a very nice touch and worked really well. Nicely done!

That was so beautiful! That's a love story, a true, devoted love story. And its perfect for death note. It explains how they could never be together and they'd both loose. Perfect. Bravo.

Absolutely gorgeous, I adored it. Honestly the first Death Note story that made me cry, hahas. It was beautiful, and I loved that line about Kira and L, and then Light and Lawliet. Amazing.

Technically, by canon rules, there is no Heaven or Hell. So the cut-off word at the end should be "Mu". But then again, you said it was "A mix of AU, anime canon, and manga canon". Therefore, it could very well be either Heaven or Hell or Limbo or some afterlife you made up yourself. There's really no way to tell.
