Ughh I love this story.

He ruined everything

Ashton isn't looking too good right now. I know he is hurting, but it wasn't his place to hurt Ron like that with something he only thinks is true, but doesn't have confirmation of...nobody does. It's all speculation at this point until Hermione or Blaise choose to speak up. If she is cheating, well I don't agree with what she is doing, but the news shouldn't come from a person who barely knows Ron and is just acting out of a moment of spite.

I'm not sure I understand why the baby is dying...is it due to magic that kills off illegitimate children so that they can't be passed off as heirs? I feel as sorry for Ashton's wife as I do anyone caught up in this ridiculous antiquated system. I find Ashton a fascinating character but I'm not overly fond of how he handles things. I don't appreciate him reminding Draco of his family duties and thus trapping Draco in the same hell he is caught up in.

A war was fought and won, the purebreds need to stop this arranged marriage and forced breeding nonsense. At least advocate surrogacy if they need to keep the population and flow of heirs going.

So far I respect Ron. That may change depending on what you do with him, but I appreciate that he made an effort. As for Draco, I think it was cruel of him to tell Theo to back off by saying it was because he was so terrible. Come up with a more humane excuse than that, Draco! I did at first think the boy was Theo Nott.

In response to your comment that you didn't know how many people hated poor Ron, well Ron's likability is a fragile thing dependent upon the setting around him and his reactions to it. Also there are two versions of Ron in general public perception. There is canon, in which he is actually decently intelligent and makes several useful observation and insights and occasional selfless acts, such as his self-sacrifice with the giant chess set in book 1. But movie Ron sees some of Ron's best moments of insight and contribution siphoned off to Hermione or other characters, thus fueling the general idea he is a buffoon and sidekick.

In canon and in movies he has the stubborn jealous streak and he deserts Harry in a hissy fit at least twice.

A fan fic writer can choose to play up the movie and canon faults when crafting a story around Ron, making him absolutely unbearable. Or play up the good points and make him a very admirable and worthy friend of Harry.

Really though, where Ron comes across badly in slash fan fiction is the fact he is ALWAYS with Harry like a scab on a wound. It then becomes the challenge of the writers to come up with credible cause to get him out of the way so Harry can have a moment alone to explore aspects of himself that don't fit that sloppy macho boy thing he has going for himself in Ron's company. Ginny is a similar obstacle, as is Hermione in most stories, and often the Weasley family, especially Molly. Whether or not these characters fare well in slash depends on what premise the writer comes up with to get them out of the way.

So far I think this is all a good thing. I don't know how you've written the upcoming chapters but from my perspective here, it seems Ron's chronically irritating presence will have to force some truths out into the open and make honest people out of all of them.

I can understand Harry and Draco being a bit stupid about locking themselves in the metaphorical closet but it is insane that Hermione hasn't ended things with Ron and made a clean break of it before embarking on whatever it is she has with Blaise.

I've loved this very frustrating and maddening storyline so far. It's ridiculously angsty but impossible to put down.

Please update! I love this story so much! Ashton is my favorite character, so amazing job creating him and continuing to keep him in character for how you originally wrote him, even though you continue to add more to his back story. Which I absolutely adore. Great plot line and well written story.

I absolutely love this story. Poor Harry and Draco but thank Merlin Ron is starting to grow up. I also pray he doesn't realise about Blaise and Hermione - that may make things awkward. All in all I adore this story and can't wait for more.

How could she cheat on Ron! Ron is so faithful to Hermione, heck, he probably never even THOUGHT about Hermione cheating on him.

Please don't abandon this story! Really you kjust must keep writing! I need to know what happens next..! It's a drug... (well yeah it kinda is) You're going straight to my Story alert and I hope to find an other chapter here some day.
