The ending especially because it leaves the writer to interpret whether or not Sam gave in because his words hurt him, or the fact that dean said he would kill him without hesitation(my theory) because he wanted to be dead but was worried that his brother would in fact, hesitate.

I've been reading a bunch of these why Sam said yes fics, and I love this one. I love love love, much as it hurts, the idea that Sam says yes because he thinks that Dean will kill him and it'll be okay.

It's full of ouch and it's just perfect.

This is so sad. I feel bad for same, and it's so typical that Dean is the one to drive him over the edge. With a life like that, I can picture him saying yes. You did a really good job with this!

(Laughs) This was by far the best look at why Sam would say 'Yes'. And sort of continues a pattern. I'm of the opinion that a lot of grief in the last couple of seasons would have been prevented if Dean had just pulled his head from his butt.. having his own words be the reason Sam breaks was just too damned good.

Now if only Dean could understand that. I can see Chuck writing it now, like a passage in the Bible - "And the cursed brother said 'nay' a thousand times, in the face of torture, slavery and complete and total darkness. And then the blessed brother spoke and broke his cursed brother's defiance with ease."

Bwahahaha.

I know we're being coaxed to pick a side with the brothers and they could BOTH stand to be a lot more open with eachother, but Dean's just been so darn aggravating lately..
