I quite like OCs around the main characters because this gives an impression of a full setting context in form of a functioning palace, an command centre with workers doing things.
I hope you show each shifting perspective of the people she sent out like Suzu for the duration of their investigation. I do hope to see more the of the uproar cause by Takashi kindnapping of Queen Kei since Naga may be known in legend but the story is outdate due to time and people fear the unknown and changes.

I've just finished watching this anime, Twelve Kingdoms, and I must say that it's just awesome, though I (and many other fans) are quite frustrated of how unsatisfying the ending became. (Sigh)
