I'm incredibly sad that this story appears to be abandoned, I loved the first and the one is just as good. Maybe some time in the distant future this will be completed.

I know this is probably a vain request, but is there any chance you'll complete this story someday and maybe write about Kenji at ages nine, 12 and 15?

Hahahahaha! Tokio making fun of Saito was priceless! And then Hiko was there and I was hoping he would be able to help Kenji get over his phobia! It would make sense, considering that he saved him in the first place, but this all works too!

I love that you're digging into the pysche of Kenshin as a parent. It's exactly what I could have hoped for in a story like this because I love Kenshin! He is such a deep and complex character, and I am very glad that that still comes across in this story - though Hiko can see right through him, lol!

Love love love LOVE! The conversation between Kenshin and Kenji was so wonderful...and then the children playing and Saito intervening - amazing! I really like Yu as a character, haha! Maybe they should be together in the future? Hmm? I don't mind either way! Technically the OVA has him with someone else but...we know nothing about her and Yu is just plain awesome.

I love this. I love Hiko and Kenshin and Aoshi and Kenji and Yu and and and EVERYTHING! I love the humor interwoven with angst, and I love how this story flows so naturally! It seems that nothing is happening, and yet EVERYTHING is happening! It makes me so happy how you are both serious and lighthearted - it makes for a wonderfully realistic portrayal of life. It's not boring in the slightest - I absolutely adore every installment!

Favorite line:

"Kenji tugged at his mother's sleeve, his pale eyes concerned. "Father looks sick, mama. You didn't cook this food did you?"

Also, I think Kaoru is pregnant again! I caught a little hint of it before, and I am wondering if I am right! If not, that's fine, but I'd love to see your take on a sibling for Kenji! )

You keep saying that you're mad, and frankly, I don't think you are, but even if it were true I don't care! I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS STORY! How are you able to get so much into a child's mind? It's amazing how accurate it seems! I love everything about this story!

The tiny bits of humor make me laugh too, haha!

"Kenji shook his head slightly and thrummed his feet against the porch. "Nah, my mom's a bad cook," he stated, not noticing the confused look Yu gave him."

Wonderful as always! I really admire your writing style too - everything flows beautifully and the language is refreshing. Love, love, love this!

What a fantastic chapter! I really understand the innerworkings of a child's mind through Kenji, and Kenshin's musings were so sad! I think that he needs to tell Kenji about his past in order for the boy to not make the same mistakes he did, but that's just my opinion... I can see him not wanting to dredge up those particular memories!

Kenji reacting to Kenshin and Kaoru's intimacy made me die! HAHA! Oh, this was too funny! And then it gave way to such seriousness and then cuteness at the end. Wonderful!

..it's 2010 and I STILL deem this THE best fic I EVER read about Kenshin and Kenji from this whole series!

I still remember the first day I read it, and I re-read it again for all time sake, and still love it.

If one day you decide to bless us with another fic like this one, it would make my millenium.

A very good Kenji story. It had some depth to it. I could relate to how a parent might second guess themselves with regard to raising their young children. We don’t want to make mistakes; raise an axe murderer. And sometimes, we think we might be, for all our best efforts. Then they give us a smile and a hug and we know, in our hearts, we’re doing alright.

The thought processes you let us see running through Kenji’s head were funny, heart warming, and sometimes shocking. He’s still only six, but oh, my goodness, what a six-year old! A real scrapper. But loves his dad so much, he’d die to save him…at six! I love the direction your stories take and this one was most satisfying. You didn’t have an ‘ending’ so I’m wondering if there is another end chapter or ….
