Aw, that was sweet. And the way Dean woke up made me happy :)

I'm glad to see John visiting of his own accord. Poor guy misses Dean's swagger. I don't guess he was too disappointed with his son's still characteristic humor and grin though.

The end made me extra happy, John trying not to be too helpful in order to respect Dean's pride. This was a lovely little story.

And now John is back in the fold but with Sam out in town. This may be the most gut-wrenching cliffie yet. And the first one that I have had to cope with, without smoothly sailing (or breathlessly clicking) onto the next fic.

Okay, I saw that you posted a story out of the drive'verse and I was like 'YAHTZEE!'. Although it's 'just' John as the maincharacter in this one and a bit of Dean,Sam & Bobby, I SO enjoyed this fic! The character of John is always a tough topic to me - by far not as tough as Dean,but still - and that isn't different concerning your drive' I wanna hug the guy and feel sorry for him,but sometimes I want to shook him and scream at him - just like concerning the actual show *lol**sighs*

But you did a great characterisation of John (and of Dean and the rest, like always *lol*).

And dude.I fell for the made me squee and teary at the same time.

That was good. A nice little add on to the Drive!verse.

I love this 'verse, and this John POV just adds another dimension. The characters are so true to form. I love the way you have John remembering Dean as he was, and trying to deal with his own feelings about Dean's injuries. And I like the way there's a reference to Sam's drink problem, but it is just a hint, that it is just part of the way things are with Bobby, Sam & Dean at the moment - they are all trying to deal with their issues the best they can. More please!

Well, it's about time. John, that is, not you. Dean's lost enough without losing his dad to that accident, too. Thank you for that.

Loved the description of Dean's smile when he awoke and saw John standing over him. For some reason, it brought a lump to my throat. I've never seen Dean's love, loyalty and respect for his dad as a weakness, I find it admirable and rather touching, with even a little extra dash of noble.

Hope John manages to stay a while and keep up the effort to repair bridges with Bobby and fix a few things with both sons. While he's at it - let's hope he can learn to forgive himself a little, too!

I just love this verse. John finally making an effort with Dean, learning to live with what they have been dealt. Very heart warming. Especially since that is not how John usually leaves one feeling. Glad that Sam is still on the wagon too.
