Reviews for A Different Kind of Quiet
Hells Bells chapter 12 . 2/2
What a FANTASTIC you have not posted more stories you capture the characters brilliantly.
DesertAire chapter 4 . 1/26/2010
I thought the scene with Gibbs and Abby was great - it didn't drag to go through the quick review of action and it felt just like it would have happened. Thanks - I gotta get to the next chapter !

Sarah1965 chapter 12 . 12/30/2009
Have been catching up so have just read through the past four chapters. This story was excellent, I really enjoyed it and I loved the epilogue, Gibbs definitely does need to move back, Tony's little family really needs him and the others would love to have him closer. Thank you for a wonderful story, I'm really looking forward to your next one.
SanBaerli chapter 5 . 12/30/2009
Hello. I just found this story yesterday, and so far it is excellent! And i honestly have to say that i normally stay away from stories such as this. Meaning, stories where Tony and Ziva are married and/or have a kid. But since this is set in the future and they dont actually work on the same team anymore, it works nicely and to me is very believable. Your story is very well written and very detail oriented, which is great! I love supportive Gibbs and Tony in any kind of distress;) One word: Awesome!
FlemilyHarper chapter 12 . 12/27/2009
I'm glad you chose to include this. The little snap shots and images of Gibbs' family are precious.

I particularly loved Adi nestled against Tony as he laughed with McGee. I love seeing both of his sides-not having to be at odds.

I loved it all. Thanks for sharing. Hoo-rah! ;)
FlemilyHarper chapter 11 . 12/27/2009
I love the line about the quilt- having seen newer but not better days. Simple and beautiful.

Tony's lingering look at his girls got me.

So good. So sweet. I love it.
FlemilyHarper chapter 10 . 12/27/2009
So. good.
FlemilyHarper chapter 9 . 12/27/2009
Well, this was just excellent-start to finish, but I expected no less. I especially loved Ziva's desire to be fighting with Tony and watching his back. Constantly surprised how much you're making me like her.

Way to remember rule #9, McGeek! "Ziva, I have a knife!" Never were more beautiful words spoken.

Ziva simultaneously holding Adi and cutting McGee free was also perfect. I can only imagine how hard it was to leave her, but I'm glad she trusted "Uncle Tim" (this makes me smile endlessly) to take care of her precious daughter.

The reunion was so sweet. Sincerely, who knew that just hearing Tony be called Daddy would do such things to my heart? But not QUITE as much as Gibbs' ancient grief.

le sigh.
FlemilyHarper chapter 8 . 12/27/2009
Boy, you weren't kidding about all the action. And I have to compliment you. I wouldn't have known where to BEGIN to describe their initial sweep of the house, but you managed to do so succinctly and clearly. You kept the action going nicely.

Their interrogation gave me the shivers. . . in a GOOD way. I pity the fool(s) that go after these men's family.
FlemilyHarper chapter 7 . 12/27/2009
Okay, you are just WRONG for this! Promising me McGee only to have him be MISSING too! Why must you torture me?

I did love Gibbs reaction to being questioned by Hennig, though.

And then . . . Sweet McGee! I have such a soft spot for him. I almost teared up at his protectiveness for Adi. Could he be any sweeter?
FlemilyHarper chapter 6 . 12/27/2009
Sob! Tony's introspection about the house, and the loss of the life and warmth was so poignant.

"Gibbs was going to go there with him-and drag him out the other side." LOVE!

This is just my favorite chapter yet! I love ALL of it!

Tony's desperation, and the long awaited head slap-all perfect.

You got it. Spot on. All of the emotions were perfection.

And McGee in the next chapter? Is it my birthday?
FlemilyHarper chapter 5 . 12/27/2009
"Tony's jaw working furiously." Is too hot! Yet simultaneously sad.

Hated Sullivan, and LOVED Gibbs taking control of the team.
FlemilyHarper chapter 4 . 12/27/2009
I'm liking your characters-although I wish I had some physical descriptions to aid me in picturing them. I especially like Lena, and the subtlety of Rob's feeling for her.

Everything about Gibbs trip to the lab and his reunion with Abby was PERFECT.

But Gibbs and Tony were even BETTER. I love that he's faking sleep for them, and that Gibbs saw through it, and I especially loved the uncharacteristically sweet gesture of running his hand through Tony's hair.

And no worries. I think it made sense to have Abby tell us everything again. Very Abby, and not too repetitive since it was from a different perspective. We need to know what THEY know.
FlemilyHarper chapter 3 . 12/27/2009
You. are. killing. me.

This line right here? "The door was ajar, which he tried not to mind, but it was hard to think of the house as not his house, but as a crime scene. It was not hard, however, to imagine what had happened inside. In the eyes of Special Agent, husband, and father Anthony DiNozzo, the picture was all too vivid." Sheer beauty. Heartbreaking beauty.

That phone call. AH! That phone call. There are too many wonderful things about that phone call to list. How I loved that phone call.

I also loved your description of Ziva's return to consciousness. Almost poetic. I'm really loving Ziva's mama bear response. I've never related to her as an agent and general bad A# , but I TOTALLY relate to her as a woman who will do whatever it takes to protect her baby.

And as heartbroken as I THOUGHT I was for parts of the story up until now, NEVER more than the first time I heard Adina mention her "daddy." Oh, how I can't wait to see Tony kick some tail and hold his girls again. I'm guessing it'll be a long time before I get that though, huh?
