I do love this - the boys (sometimes separately, sometimes together) catching Bobby up on things. Glad you wrote this; makes perfect sense.
Glad he gave them hell over not calling him to let him know they weren't dead!
Like how he's the confessor for each of them...
Love how Bobby tried to talk with Sam at Sam's lowest - when Dean kicked him out - but Bobby didn't make it in time.
Totally love how Bobby's grumbling about the end of the world... "Sometimes I like just talking about the damn weather." :D

Awww, I love this one. You did a fantastic job of telling this story with tiny snippets and nothing but dialogue and clicks. Bobby deserves the screen time and I really like how you could tell exactly how he was feeling and what he means to the Winchesters so crystal clearly here.

This was such an interesting set up for the story! Alrthough I had to wrack my brain for some of the episodes :) The boys need Bobby so much and they sometimes don't realize how much he needs them back. This showed that so well :)

Me again. Actually I read this some time ago on my phone but hadn't had the opportunity to review. But I just had to come back and leave one because Bobby is a favorite character of mine and this was just so unique. I love that it was nothing but phone conversations, and how the conversations progressed as the season went on. Was I right to think that the time Bobby didn't answer the phone was the time shortly after he'd been put in the wheelchair and he probably wasn't answering his phone because he was busy feeling sorry for himself? Anyway, great fic. You always have the most creative ideas!

Nicely done, loved the short calls to Bobby from the boys through various epis. Very believable.

It's nice to hear these possible conversations with Bobby and from so many different episodes or their aftermaths. Bobby has always been their sounding post in a world that has been very crazy at times. And yes, I agree with Bobby at the end. Enough with the end of the world...for the moment any way. LOL Good story.

You've illustrated some wonderful off-screen moments with this story.

For the most part, we know and understand why these are implied, rather than played out, but it doesn't mean we don't crave for some of them to take place in front of the camera.

Dean's one-liner about 'we're famous' fuelled a big grin, and I loved your explanation for why Sam was left alone in the panic room.

This was a really simple but effective way of delving into Bobby's relationship with the boys. He's not just a Supernatural sounding board anymore and over the years you showed how the relationship has developed into a family.

I must admit to skimming over parts towards the end but just because I've only seen the first few eps of season 5, but I caught the end 'weather' section and it was nice to end on a lighter note. But I guess it just shows how much both boys rely on Bobby and value his opinion.

I especially liked the messages the boys left while separated with Bobby in his wheelchair. They were very telling, not just in terms of the boys split but of Bobby's frame of mind as he struggles with his disability. And how he tried to pick the phone up on Sam only to miss him - that really struck a cord with me, painful and yet a turning point for Bobby.

Very enjoyable read and I always did wonder how Bobby was always up to speed with the boys! Take care, Abbi

This is a real gem! Loved the idea of "watching" some crucial events through phone calls to Bobby. The dialogue was absolutely priceless...and wonderfully spot-on.

And you know what? It was really hard to read some of those calls; to remember what hell (in one case, literally) these boys and Bobby have been through in just two years. It really hit home and brought tears to my eyes. Just two years!

Also, really loved how Bobby just was listening in on his calls via the answering machine after he was in a wheelchair. He probably felt depressed and pretty useless. But when he tried to grab Sam's call about Lucifer's plan and Dean being done with him, well, that really tugged at my heart. :(
