perfect end, I haven't been crying like that for years :'D

Another thing I've got to complain about that is esoteric in nature, I dislike the notion of an afterlife with Eywa as something eternal. I think that growth of spirit, soul, mind is a thing that is not limited to life, but goes further then it.
So dying Na'vi might get to Eywa as depicted there to stay for a time, some longer and some shorter, to later be reborn again or to ascend further.
It of course is very subjective, but I dislike things like "eternally staying with Eywa" because of their finality. I like possibilies, both a possibility of afterlife AND possibilities IN afterlife : D

Otherwise it's all SUPERB
I wish I could write characters and emotions so well, they are deeply touching, their emotions and thoughts always relevant or even essential. If you have any advice on how to become so proficient in writing characters I'd appreciate it very much. I have some stories in mind and some skill with world-building but little skills with characters if any.

I didn't like chapter 10, but otherwise this story is perfect, just as Pandora's Hope, Eywa's Way and He Who Rules.
Because I prefer interpretation of Eywa is literally a goddess, if only somewhat more tangible then human gods whom humanity had forsaken for it's doom.

I loved these one-shots just as much as your other story. Lots of new ideas and creativity in them, which I love. It was good to see two perspectives on the 'dying' part of Na'vi, and the different characters once more. I just have one bad thing to say: The Selfridge chapter is too short imo. I would absolutely love one more on him, how he manages his new life (if the experiment was successful anyways) in his new 3m tall blue body :p. I would absolutely *love* to see that.

In this story your own voice as a writer has come across which is hard to when writing fan fiction and still be true to the world you have chosen to play in you have done this in this story well done and thank you

Just read your first three one-shots, but am saving the rest for a later time, when I need a little respite from my homework.

I love these little snippets of Pandora and the Na'vi's world, very eloquent and introspective. I'll be sure to check out more of your work as well!

Thanks so much for both of these interconnected stories, I have enjoyed them so much.

I just read this story and Pandora's Hope. Great stories. If I could request one more chapter it would be of the same year of the second landing after Jake dies. Showing reactions to the fact that it was Jake Sully that greeted them and the beginnings of the positive Na'vi/Human relations.
Whitetree-Nimloth chapter 10 . 5/27/2010
Interesting idea. Really interesting. I mean... wow. Nice.
bearwonty chapter 1 . 5/6/2010
I don't think a fanfic has ever brought me to tears before. Your description of Jake's decline and his grief were so genuine and tender. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
trixter77 chapter 8 . 2/14/2010
I love your one shots...wish you'd do more...
Blue Hunny chapter 12 . 2/8/2010
I wish I had happened upon this story of yours sooner. I am ironically happy to find a description of the death one knows must happen. For whatever reason I have been enamored of the relationship between Jake and Neytiri ever since seeing the movie, and it has inspired me to seek out the musings of others about the possibilities their story may hold, in addition to penning my own. Certainly, there has been no shortage of the celebrations of their love for each other, and the trials they overcome in a challenging time and place. But all of that is just lip service if one assumes that it is part of a perpetual fairy tale; the joy of life is only relevant if we know we will one day be bereft of it. I cannot begin to imagine what it would truly feel like to watch the single most important part of my life depart, leaving me alone to face the memories. I suppose it would be easier if one had the ready access to the afterlife that the Na'vi have, but as I human I can only relate to the hope for such reunions. Dum spiro, spero.

I cried. I felt alive.

Great set of story's, each one was quite good.

I have never in my life reviewed any stories at all, except for Pandora's Hope and finally for Shadow of a Giant. I must say this has been such an adventurous journey and although its been a sad one, I am still grateful that you could provide us with such awesome stories. Your story telling abilities go way beyond any others I've read so far, and I encourage you TO KEEP GOING ALL THE WAY. It is hard to say this, but I can not find any flaws within your stories, and it bugs me, but regardless I love it all. Please keep up the great work with the Avatar Fanfics. Maybe after this I will actually register for a legit account haha.
cloaked-and-coastin chapter 12 . 1/29/2010
I read this (Ch. 12) 4 times over the course of a week and a half, it choked me up every time. Both of your lines: "...You have shown me much. There is no asking for more." and "This is our dream, I've seen it all." made me feel as though my heart was in a vise grip. Very powerful stuff, probably one of the saddest things I've ever read. Thanks.
