I liked the beginning, but...

Well...It's written consistently and makes sense... But I'm just not sure I appreciate some of the concepts? I dislike how Draco has no choice in the matter of their relationship. I guess it's supposed to be romantic, but the ultimatum Harry give hims, 'date me or I quit', even if he -claims- it isn't Draco's fault...I find it needlessly dramatic, and a cruel threat.

Additionally, I don't like how Draco needs to date Harry, or he dies. He's clearly not ready for a relationship, and I think it would have meant a lot more if Draco had decided to take the risk of his own volition. The situation is presented under the pretense that it's 'to make him accept happiness for himself', for his own good, but if he's forced into a relationship, I'd expect that Draco would eventually feel undeserving, inferior, and resentful.

They don't enter their relationship as equals: Draco is Harry's "reward" (as if he's an object for Harry's pleasure, and not a person in his own right), and on top of that, Harry is his BOSS. This means Harry has the means to control Draco's employment, and he has already threatened to quit before they're even officially dating. If he had decided to make that decision on his own, so that he could earn Draco's trust fairly, I think that's fine and commendable. But he instead used his job to threaten Draco into a confrontation. Furthermore, clearly neither of them can handle the responsibility of dating a co-worker: Draco skips work at the first sign of trouble, Harry threatens to quit.

And the descriptions...Isn't it possible to love someone, without thinking them "god-like" or "the most gorgeous man I've ever seen"? They seem blinded and impractical.

Well, I guess it's personal preference...it just seemed really unhealthy to me. I'm sure it's intended to be romantic. I did enjoy the part where Draco chokes on the olive; I think that the story leads up to his death nicely. Haha, such an embarrassing way to die, after facing the Dark Lord and working as an auror. I also love the part where Harry gets super flustered about being asked on a date, and before that, I enjoyed his attempts to capture Draco's attention.

OMG. Seriously. Wow. What a beautiful story. I loved it that the fates looked into the future and created Draco just for Harry. That was effing awesome! Draco's inner turmoil felt incredibly realistic, which made it possible to endure so much of him wanting but fearing, and needing but denying, etc. Really, really great!

And thank you so much for adding the epilogue. After roughly 17,000 words, I'd have been mightily disappointed to not get at least a glimpse of the happily ever after that we obviously knew they'd have.

In summation, this was a brilliant fic. Warmed me up better than a good space heater in a small room - and it's snowing here, so that's important! Thank you for sharing this delightful tale. :-DD
