Reviews for Career Counseling
Temple Cloud chapter 9 . 2/15/2019
Ending on a sinister note (even more than you did with the Father Christmas letters and poor Montague). I liked this sequence, and I really did feel for Snape, trying to get through to Draco (he's a lot more perceptive than Slughorn) and not being able to get him to see that wanting to join a terrorist organisation isn't a good career choice even if it IS following family tradition.

Hermione's plans probably go off in different directions after the events of her sixth and seventh year. In general, she really needs to get to know more house-elves, instead of just assuming that house-elves ought to want the same things as humans, but don't have a human's capacity to decide for themselves what they want. Luna, on the other hand, might really be onto something in researching gnome culture.

At least most of these teenagers have SOME idea what they want to do, even if, in Pansy's case, this is 'Marry for money.' At sixteen, my plans didn't extend beyond 'Do A-levels and go to university,' to avoid having to think about getting a job for another five years. In that sense, maybe the fact that the wizarding population in Britain doesn't seem to be large enough to support a university, so that most school-leavers probably go on to some sort of apprenticeship or work-based training, might actually be an advantage. Those with an academic bent presumably choose a career which gives the opportunity for study and original research, but we don't learn much about this, given that the stories take us up until Harry, Hermione and Ron leave school a year early and spend a year on a quest to defeat Voldemort, after which they possibly return to school to study for their NEWTs a year late.

Hello! I've read the entire fic and I've loved it all but so far this is my favourite piece. Lovely take on Miss Cho Chang. Thank you for portraying it under a better light than most fickers do.
Guest chapter 8 . 9/10/2015
I think you are right. There's just so much we don't know about people with whom we have lived for years-classmates, teachers...and what can I not change to bring those days back
Guest chapter 1 . 9/10/2015
You have similar taste in humor as I have. Needless to say I totally loved it.
aaquater chapter 9 . 4/7/2015
Really nice, all of them. I'd say Pansy is my favorite, though.

Aileil chapter 9 . 6/20/2014
Thank you for this. It is touching in several aspects. First, it shows the care of teachers for their students, the concern of the experienced for those with none. Second, it shows the struggle of the children to choose a life out of all those before them, knowing so little about life and yet trying to form it with no idea as to its end. Thirdly, it shows the attitude of the young towards the old, the care, the fear, the awe, the scorn, and the love. Thank you.

I've just started reading this series (at long last! - I'm on ghetto Half-Blood Prince) and this is a great story! Well done!
